Job Summary
· Support the CFO in executing all accounting and finance bookings and reporting for the SGL Japan Branch as well as Scor Services Japan (service company)
· Ensure that all reporting (including tax) is completed in a timely and accurate manner. All figures should be well explained
· Ensure execution of all relevant controls and reconciliations
· To ensure that the entity is in compliance with all local regulatory, statutory requirements, group reporting requirements, tax and other matters as prescribed below.
· To ensure group requirements are fulfilled; close coordination will be required with the Singapore HUB Finance team and certain group, divisional and regional stakeholders.
Key duties and responsibilities
1. IFRS reporting
· Support to complete quarterly IFRS reporting in accordance with group calendar and timetable
· Ensure proper and timely audit of financials and control
2. Statutory reporting
· Support for the preparations of statutory filings for the Branch and the service company
· Work closely with HUB to ensure statutory requirements are complied with, controlled and reported
3. Solvency reporting
· Support the preparing of regular solvency reports as per regulations (including Solvency II SGL SE reporting needs)
4. Book-keeping within SAP
· To book all revenues and expenses in SAP in a correct and timely manner
· Manage expenses and non-technical payables and receivables (including T&E, STAMP, P2P, etc.)
· Manage the BS, PL and CF in multi-GAAP ledgers
5. Financial Planning and analysis
· Variance analysis, comparison of actual expenses with budgets to exercise control over actual expenses
6. Treasury and cash management
· Initiate all technical and non-technical payments and manage receipts
· Ensure all payments are properly authorized following the approved signatory list
· Support the preparation of quarterly cash flow forecasts for the branch
7. Investment oversight
· Ensure the proper booking of investments
· Optimize the investment portfolio from a capital, profitability and liquidity perspective
· Co-ordinate with HUB, SIP, GIO and BlackRock
8. Tax compliances
· Income tax calculation and payments
· Service tax calculations and payments
· Preparation and submission of Service tax returns and Income tax returns
· Co-ordination with HUB Tax on tax provisions and any tax risks
9. Reconciliations
· Preparation of Bank reconciliations,
· Complete SAP, OMEGA and investment reconciliations
10. ICS implementation – document and implement controls and ensure properly executed
11. Payroll - support HUB HR and external providers in the preparation and payment of monthly payroll
Other Matters
· Co-ordinate and compile an analysis of all technical movements to ensure that the technical results are properly booked in SAP and well explained
· Co-ordinate receipt of all technical payments/recipts from brokers/cedants
· Companies Act related documentation
Required experience & competencies
· Should have experience of 3-5 years in Finance
· Ideally should have worked in a small company
· Insurance industry exposure beneifical
Personal Competences:
· Strong personality traits, able to work closely with different stakeholders within a small professional office environment
· International company exposure beneficial
· Familiar with IFRS and ideally J-GAAP
· Experience of SAP preferred but other large accounting package exposure required
· Strong skils and experience in MS Office
· Good communication skills
