RESPONSIBILITIES
Within the Global Marketing Plans & Insights team, the figure will be responsible for performing the following tasks:

Support the definition of Pirelli Mktg Plans, collaborating with Global mktg/communication departments and Local teams  
Monitoring Marketing Plans implementation progress during the year by performing reports/analysis on mktg investments (forecast, spending, etc)  
Prepare supporting materials (e.g. presentations) for alignment meetings with HQ stakeholders (finance, HQ departments) and local teams. 
Support HQ/local teams on operational items related to marketing investment management tools 

 

SKILLS

Master’s degree in a quantitative discipline
Analysis & Problem solving
Strong ability at developing relationships across diverse teams 
Effective organization and time management skills
Good presentation skills 
Proficient in MS Office, including PowerPoint, Word, Excel (in particular) and Outlook
Fluency in English 

Motorsport Trainee Graduate Engineer

The successful graduate will become an integral member of the Pirelli Motorsport team; you will be involved in most aspects of tyre engineering, providing professional trackside support service in respect to a variety of motorsport events. You will work in both in Didcot, Oxfordshire and at race events in the UK and abroad  as and when required.

 You will be passionate about motorsport and have excellent practical skills, be a good problem solver, possess the ability to analyse and interpret data as well as assess physical cases.

 You will be available to travel extensively both in the UK and overseas.

Role responsibilities

·  To analyse and interpret race data on behalf of Pirelli and your allocated motorsport team(s) with the aim of promoting continuous improvement in the brand
·  To produce clear, factual reports in a timely manner
·  To be acutely aware of the need for accuracy and resilience in a fast paced and highly pressurised environment
·  To understand how the role of Engineer compliments and works with other motorsport roles e.g. Fitters, Logistics, R&D etc. and to operate at all times in a fully co-operative and cohesive manner
·  To work as an effective team member in relation to the Engineering team and as required with other Pirelli motorsport teams
·  To take initiative and solve problems through statistical analysis and regular liaison and discussion with colleagues, line managers and race team representatives
·  To identify and undertake training and development activities as required to enable you to fulfil the role, keep your knowledge and skills up to date and to fulfill your own potential

MECHANICAL PROJECTS ENGINEER

 

BURTON ON TRENT

 

The successful applicant will work 40 hours per week, 08:00-16:00 Monday to Friday

Basic salary £42,190 per annum.

 

A vacancy has arisen within our Engineering Department; we are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Mechanical Projects Engineer to join our team in Burton on Trent.

 

The main purpose of this role is to provide an efficient delivery of highly technologically focused projects and improvement programmes consistent with a complex, global, technical leader in the Prestige and Ultra High Performance Tyre industry. The ideal candidate will have a high degree of technical know-how in the rubber and plastics industry. Alongside industry specific knowledge, detailed mechanical engineering knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics and mechanical power transmission systems is necessary for the position holder to be effective in their role. A good understanding of civil and structural engineering principles will support the individual in delivering high quality installations and upgrades taking into account the boundaries of engineering limitations.

 

The position will primarily cover the management of projects from concept through the quotation and installation phases, as well as all aspects of design, specification and project management.

 

Key responsibilities include:

·  Applying for and working within project CAPEX budgets.
·  Discussing and establishing technical specification with internal stakeholders
·  Preparing technical proposals for machinery modifications and improvements
·  Developing preliminary technical drawings and manufacturing ready designs using CAD software
·  Creation and management of help files, major breakdown analysis and documents to assist maintenance tradespeople
·  Involvement with the integration of new machinery, assisting commissioning work and preparation of documentation
·  Passing on technical skills and information to other tradespeople with a degree of apprentice mentoring
·  Provide technical support and assist maintenance department when required
·  Liaising directly with suppliers, including overseas for technical assistance and support. Managing contractors for installation of new machinery and utilities and modifications to existing equipment
·  Working closely within an established Project team.

 

There is a requirement for the individual to be a time served mechanical engineer with the appropriate technical qualifications; preferably trained to degree level in the relevant engineering discipline. Candidates must have excellent IT skills, particularly for data analysis and presentations. They must also demonstrate a high level of resilience, self-motivation and initiative. The successful candidate will have good analytical and problem solving skills, with the ability to analyse situations, make decisions and escalate issues as necessary. Strong organisation and communication skills are essential. Formal project management training and fluency in a language other than English is desirable.

 

To be effective in the role, candidates need to be equally comfortable in both the factory environment, working directly on machines to develop new investments and upgrades, and also in an office setting, where they will be developing projects and creating designs and technical literature. The successful applicant should be flexible and able to provide telephone assistance and call outs if and when required. They should also have flexibility in respect of travel to other UK sites and overseas, as required.
