What You'll Do


Your role will be Manager of Software Development and you will be part of world-class Software engineering team that works on various cutting-edge technologies in Cisco's Enterprise Networking Stack. You will have an opportunity to lead and nurture a team of engineers, owning core software infrastructure and real-time technologies for Cisco IOS-XE such as N-way replicable in-memory databases and messaging, domain specific languages and execution engine for database queries, content delivery, analytics pipelines, cluster discovery and orchestration. This software will power the Cisco Enterprise portfolio of Routers, Switches, Wireless and IOT devices.

* Strong engineering and software development ethic with focus on automated unit-testing and phase containment

* Commitment to Quality: Ability to ensure and commit to a higher standard of quality than usual in the face of time to market pressures.

* Experience in working with large-scale, high performance, real-time systems in C/C++ environments is required.

* Experience in running complex software engineering projects with cross-functional teams including working with other software organizations in Cisco.

* In-depth knowledge of real-time infrastructure components

* Ability to guide team on technical proposals, seek feedback and influence senior leadership


Responsibilities:

Manage a team of engineers involved in the development of software for our next generation Enterprise Networking architectures. Ability to lead and co-ordinate tasks related to Defining Architecting, designing, and delivering new software and features for the Enterprise Networking Operating System.

Mentor team members and attract new talent. Partner with product management to creating new features roadmap, understanding features in a competitive product and proposing solutions that work for our platform. Review specifications and provide feedback on documents from software engineers in the team, helping documentation team with the configuration aspects of your feature.

Minimum Qualifications


* BS in CS/EE combined with minimum 8 years experiences out of which at least 3 years of experience is in software management role

* Embedded systems background.
* Experience with real-time infrastructure. Good understanding of various networking protocols and standards.
* Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally.
