It provides guidance and support to subsidiaries around the world, to ensure the coordination and monitoring of the Group's global strategy, the application of its standards, the consistency of commercial approaches and the sharing of best practices. Management Presentation:

The Group P&C Actuarial department is part of the Group Finance organization and has the following missions:

  • Support the Group and its entities in setting, monitoring, and delivering ambitious financial performance to be achieved through sustainable levers and adequate actuarial practices,
  • Conduct peer reviews on Technical Provisions,
  • Fulfil the regulatory role of the Actuarial Function.

The Group P&C actuarial team is composed of 12 FTEs and leverages on all local actuarial teams and Centers of Expertise across the Group.

Starting 2024, the Group P&C Actuarial team will carry out In-Depth Reviews of the technical provisions of the operating entities, leading to an effective independent opinion to drive business sustainability and ensure Group-wide continuous improvement of the actuarial practice.

Job purpose:

The P&C Reserving Actuary:

  • Participates in In-Depth Reviews of the technical provisions of targeted entities and/or activities, upon mandate of the top management;
  • Applies appropriate methodologies to carry out an independent assessment of the technical provisions;
  • Contributes to the writing of the mission report and to the presentations of the conclusions of its review on the adequacy of the methodologies and of the booked amounts;
  • Participates to the Group P&C actuarial practice knowledge sharing.

Main activities:

  • In-depth reviews
    • Participate to on-site missions, based on mandate from the top management, schedule, prepare and lead on-site reviews with local stakeholders (actuarial, claims, underwriting, finance).
    • Carry independent evaluation of technical provisions using appropriate methodologies and tools, based on accurate data and business insights from experts (claims managers, underwriters)
    • Explicit limits and assumptions, and present risk/opportunity analysis
  • Best Practice sharing and up skilling
    • Identify best practices across the Group and areas of improvements, and contribute to up skilling the Actuarial practice in the Group
    • Contribute to the effectiveness of the global Reserving framework and identify solutions to ensure the sustainability of our businesses.
  • Actuarial Function
    • Provide insights to the Group Actuarial Function Holder to issue its opinion in the Actuarial Report on underwriting, technical provisions and reinsurance arrangements.
    • Propose bespoke recommendations regarding practice, tools, methodologies.

Group Underwriting Office, Group Risk Management, Group Finance Departments Local head of P&C, Actuarial Function Holders, Chief Risk Officers, and P&C specialists.

Desired profile

Qualifications :

The role holder is an Actuary with previous successful experiences in P&C actuarial matters.

Ability to work transversally in a global organization, and to build strong and trusting relationship.

Ability to communicate effectively to a diverse range of stakeholders.

Willingness to learn from diverse and multiples situations, to perform deep dives on technical matters and to provide synthetic restitution.
