Job description

Responsibilities:

The Regional Sales Manager – Eastern USA is an individual contributor position with overall responsibility of the development and management of key accounts either from direct sales or indirect sales via dealers or affiliate Liebherr companies, in the Eastern USA region (area). This postion will be home based in the Eastern region of the USA with support from the Liebherr USA, Co location based in Newport News, VA and Liebherr USA, Co Mining Division in Gillette, WY.

· Approaches customer, gathers information and negotiates contracts for Liebherr to be able to obtain profitable orders in providing products and services to the market, which satisfy customer’s needs but also improves the image of Liebherr equipment, facilitates new equipment sales and ensures growth in the area.

· Maintains frequent and timely assessments and reports on market conditions; potential and current customers and competitors; and markets serviced; and provide frequent and accurate forecasts. Must provide timely input/updates for call reports, lost sale reports and other similar reports as required by company reporting procedures..

· Supports development of sales strategy for the area while ensuring alignment with Liebherr’s overall mining strategy.

· Identifies, develops, and coordinates effective business relationships with dealers and alternative distribution channels to ensure maximum market penetration – where applicable.

· Provides guidance and support in the development, implementation and maintenance of profitable service contracts.

· Develops and manages major account customers in cooperation with regional affiliates and distributors – where applicable.

· Conducts and supports the establishment of risk analyses for different mining projects to be submitted to Executive Management for project approval.

· Coordinates and conducts sales presentations including participation of other LME factory representatives.

· Develops sales call allocations.

· Liaises with other Sales support departments in preparation of quotations and tender documents.

· Coordinates the submission of mining haul truck offers in cooperation with dealers/affiliate companies to customers and follows up – where applicable.

· Represents company at trade association meetings and/or industry events to promote products.

Competencies:

A combination of education and experience equivalent to a degree in a related technical area (i.e. Mechanical Engineering or Mining Engineering) or a degree in Business Administration; 8 years of experience the off-highway heavy equipment industry and at least 3 years in a Sales, Sales Support, Business Development and/or Product Management role in the mining equipment industry.

Travel to customer, supplier, affiliate and/or dealer sites up to 70% of the time.

Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license and Passport.
