Job Summary:

This position is responsible for administration of applicable quality systems and directives that result in compliance with corporate and company policies, procedures, instructions, specifications, and customer requirements relative to product manufactured and assembled at Liebherr Mining Equipment Newport News Co. (LME) by performing the following duties.

Essential Job Duties:

· Conduct internal quality system, process and product audits and generate reports.
· Participate in onsite customer audits or plant tours.
· Contribute in investigation and resolution of Non-conformances.
· Determine root causes for non-conformances; define/develop/execute/validate corrective actions; evaluate effectiveness of corrective actions.
· Identify, report, and escalate relevant Quality issues to management.
· Recognize when practice and procedure do not align and adjust the documentation accordingly.
· Participate in the implementation of continuous improvement tools in Quality Assurance operations.
· Assist with development, measurement, and reporting of Quality metrics.
· Represent the end user of our product during meetings, discussion and business decisions.
· Perform multiple functions within our Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software.
· Support Quality Systems Administrator in document control activities.
· Create training presentations on Quality subjects.
· Generate periodic efficient, comprehensive, and communicable reports and presentations.
· Ensure the timely submission of reports.
· Develop Quality documents that comply with the latest ISO 9001 standards.
· Interact with other Liebherr companies to support corporate initiatives.
· Assist with improving business management systems.
· Support production operations relative to quality issues.
· Work with manufacturing to improve performance, implement process controls, and quality plans.
· Enact upon assignments as directed by the Quality Systems Manager.

· Knowledge of sampling, confidence, control charts, Pareto analysis, histograms, normal distribution, process capability, root cause analysis, etc.
· Ability to design process maps that take into account all process variables.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor's degree (B.A/B.S.) from a four (4) year college or university and three (3) years of experience in a quality systems role in a manufacturing environment, with two (2) years of experience in corrective action implementation; ASQ CQE Certified Quality Engineer and/or ASQ Certified Quality Auditor preferred.

The employee is frequently required to stand, walk and sit and perform keyboard use/repetitive hand motion. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms; reach/overhead work; use hands to finger, handle or feel and balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl or climb. The employee must occasionally lift push, pull, carry and/or move up to25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, wet and/or humid conditions; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; outside weather conditions; extreme hot and cold temperature; extreme heat; risk of electrical shock; risk of radiation. The employee maybe exposed to and/or handle hazardous material and toxic or caustic chemicals The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet but can be loud.

Additional Requirements:

· Travel domestically and internationally up to 10% of the time.
· Ability to obtain and maintain a valid driver license and passport.
· Ability to maintain Mine Safety & Health Administration (MSHA) certification.
