Desired profile

Tasks & accountabilities

Aerodynamic coefficients necessary for the construction of a rotorcraft model can be determined with different means and with different accuracy.
The first step of the study would be to determine the acceptable accuracy range of these aerodynamic coefficients at the level of flight loads achieved in similar certification manoeuvres. The intern (m/f) is introduced to HOST/STORM in order to slightly change the coefficient in the model and to be able to perform some limit load manoeuvres.
The next step could be to incorporate CFD results into the model, calculate flight loads and make a comparison between the CFD-based and the wind tunnel-based flight limit loads (on one or more rotorcrafts).
Finally, recommendations should be given on how a polar should look from a load point of view and on what to consider in the construction of a helicopter fuselage.
Your exciting tasks:

·  Familiarization with the dynamic and the aerodynamic of a helicopter
·  Familiarization with the Comprehensive-Rotor-Code HOST
·  Execution of HOST simulations
·  Modification of fuselage polars
·  Comparison of results
·  Determination of the necessary accuracy
·  Optimization of the fuselage and its polar
·  Documentation of the work

This job requires an awareness of any potential compliance risks and a commitment to act with integrity, as the foundation for the Company's success, reputation and sustainable growth.
