Job Description

Neurobus is seeking a skilled Embedded Software Engineer to join our team to develop AI payloads for satellites. We have special hardware available that needs to be integrated into a larger payload system, given certain mission constraints. Hardware includes event camera sensors, conventional and neuromorphic AI accelerators, FPGAs and other advanced data processors for space applications. We're aiming to control our machine learning workloads with a Python interface. The ideal candidate will be able to tie together and optimize different firmware software and develop communication protocols for machine learning workloads, to ensure high performance of our Linux-based payload systems.

This opportunity is available as an internship, apprenticeship, or a permanent position, depending on the candidate's profile.

Preferred Experience

Key Responsibilities

· 
Develop and optimize embedded software for our AI-driven satellite data processors.

· 
Develop satellite payload protocols to start/stop payloads, monitor the system, manage storage and temperature and more.

· 
Integrate Neurobus' machine learning workloads into the payload software using a Python interface. 

· 
Collaborate on the creation of demo applications to showcase the AI capabilities of our systems, ensuring their smooth integration and operation.

· 
Design and conduct test procedures to rigorously assess the functionality of our products.

Qualifications

· 
A Master's degree in Embedded Systems Engineering or a related field.

· 
A portfolio demonstrating experience with embedded systems.

· 
Solid understanding of Linux-based OS principles.

· 
Proficiency in Python, C/C++, and firmware/driver development.

Preferred Skills

· 
Familiarity with arm-based systems.

· 
Experience with Real-Time Operating Systems.

· 
Python coding skills needed, low-level language a plus.

· 
Understanding of AI technologies and their hardware implementation.

· 
Background in the space or aerospace industry.
