We currently have vacancy for a Bid Coordinator based at our office in Milton Keynes.
Mission:
Lead and drive a team of Bid Engineers to help ensure that:
- The highest level of customer satisfaction is provided to both external and internal customers;
- Effective and efficient use of available resources;
- Development of individuals within the team;
- Maximise sales potential and profitability for both solution and transactional offers; and
- Minimising commercial risk.
Key Responsibilities:
- Actively participate as a member of the Services Bid Centre management team.
- Operationally manage the team within area of responsibility, carry out one to ones on a regular basis.
- Promote and reinforce values within team – communication, team work, honesty, escalation, commitment to promises and values.
- Develop the team in terms of product, internal and external networking, tendering critical success factor knowledge through a formal training plan and planned development challenges.
- Help, manage and support the commercial bid management process to provide a deliverable solution as well as timely and accurate bid documentation. Manage expectations of internal and external customers.
- Ensure the team are able to identify, assess and minimise the commercial exposure of the business unit and review tender assignments where necessary.
- Support current Services offers. Ensure the maximum support is offered to the sales force and customers in offer/technical issues.
- Own and coordinate customer issues, taking appropriate action to solve issues.
- Implement and support the agreed tender authorisation process.
- Develop effective interdependent networks with other Entities.
- Where appropriate, meet with customers and sales engineers to provide input on technical/commercial issues.
- Where necessary ensure that adequate pre-tender, tender and contractual support is provided to meet the needs of the customer base. Approve quotations on an individual project basis in line with the agreed Bid Authorisation Process, using experience of the commercial market/customers, but always within the required margin parameters, so that contracts may be won with maximum profitability to the company.
Essential:
Minimum of HNC or equivalent, preferably in Electrical Engineering or Engineering Discipline
Demonstrable experience in a Bid role
Ability to lead, motivate, delegate and work well within a team
Well-developed interpersonal skills (written and verbal)
Excellent negotiation skills
Excellent time/project management skills
Presentation skills
Budgetary and financially aware
Comprehensive understanding and application of Commercial T&Cs
Fully PC literate – MS Office, Internet and Lotus Notes e-mail
Driving licence
Desirable:
MS Access / SAP skills
Proven experience in a similar supervisory role
