Data Scientist in Therapeutic Antibody Development (m/f)Large molecule research (LMR) is a technological unit within Roche Pharma Research and Early Development (pRED). LMR is generating novel therapeutic proteins according to a specific target compound profile, optimizes the identified lead series and develops a suited clinical lead candidate up to phase I trials. Our department has a focus on identification, characterization and engineering of novel therapeutic proteins for different medical indications such as Oncology, CNS, Ophthalmology, and Inflammation. Constant innovation paired with automation of established technologies and associated high content data-handling are essential characteristics of our daily work. In this environment we are looking for a Data Scientist. Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following tasks: - Advancing data integration and data mining capabilities. This comprises consolidation of protein sequence, structural and activity data generated in the department with the aim to apply machine learning and deep learning in the field of protein design and engineering. - You will be responsible for the evaluation of new in-silico modeling and prediction applications in the field of therapeutic antibody discovery and development and their value for internal research workflows. The testing on relevant data sets and implementation for internal use also belongs to your tasks. - We ask you to support research projects and platforms with tailor-made analyses and prototype applications advancing protein engineering technologies - In addition, the maintenance and continuous development of existing applications is also up to you. This comprises internal computational structural biology suites as well as interfacing with external partners active in the relevant field. - You will develop solutions for data acquisition and exchange across technology areas, meaning realizing efficiency gains by improvement of workflows and bundling of recurrent tasks - As part of these activities you will need to work with multi-disciplinary project teams across research sites. We will also ask you to present results, conclusions and recommendations to internal colleagues and external partners as required. - As scientific expert you contribute to functional excellence work groups, focusing on the identification of next generation protein therapeutics and applications in different disease areas
