Accessioning Clerk II

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

·  Follow standard operating procedures to enter orders for high complexity clinical lab tests.
·  Be responsible for efficient and accurate entry of customer and patient demographic data, clinical information, test request information and physician information.
·  Review, understanding, and executing customer-specific requirements for order entry.
·  Create service requests in CRM system to document issues and work closely with client service team to resolve and escalate incomplete or unclear order issues.
·  Checking the work of others to ensure order entry quality.
·  Troubleshoots problems and assists department employees with process questions.
·  Faxing requests to customers to resolve unclear orders.
·  Running queue reports to ensure daily tasks are completed.
·  Assist the account set up administration.
·  Acts as a training resource for department employees.
·  Charged with executing process improvement recommendations.
·  Retrieve forms from lab for the team to accession.
·  Escalate issues to appropriate internal resources.
·  Interact with Finance team to provide patient billing information in a secure manner.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Formal Training/Education:

·  High school diploma or GED equivalent required
·  AA/AS degree desirable

Experience:

·  2+ years' experience working in the clinical laboratory, medical field, order management, or related field
·  Experience using Customer Relationship Management (CRM) Software (e.g. NetSuite, Salesforce.com), laboratory information systems and proficient in Microsoft Office Suite a plus

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

·  Must be able to follow laboratory procedures and must adhere to the laboratory's quality control policies
·  Demonstrate a strong ability to identify and act on issues within an order that may impact customer satisfaction and test turnaround time
·  The level II form accessioning clerk must have strong verbal and written skills to communicate within the team and to internal and external partners as needed
·  Must be able to type 45 words per minute with excellent accuracy
·  Superior people skills and a team player
·  Must be able to lift up to 35 lbs
·  Must have excellent attention to detail
