POSITION SUMMARY

 

In line with the Maison’s strategy, the Senior Area Manager oversees the Commercial strategies and Retail operation with a dedicated focus in Hainan.

 

Being resourceful and understand well the overall development of Hainan and the Travel Retail industry, the Senior Area Manager should be able to identify the commercial development strategies for Hainan and ensure the execution of such with a clear objectives in sell-out management, market penetration, boutique staffing management and effectiveness of marketing operations.  

 

He/she also works in close collaboration with DF operators to the interest of the Maison.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

 

Business Development Strategies:

 

·  Prepare market studies with a comprehensive analysis of the Hainan which encompasses Travel Retail market outlook, duty-free policies development, luxury brand footprint and operators’ / retailers’ development.
·  Prepare business plans for the network development of the Maison, analyzing the market potential from the commercial and brand positioning perspectives; and possible partnership with operators / retailers.Identity potential network development opportunities and propose to management.
·  Build & nurture the relationship with operators/ retailers and ensure they understand and embrace the Maison’s vision and strengthen the Maison’s leadership positioning.
·  Ensure the TR operations are in line with local market commercial strategy.
·  Conduct regular business review meetings with operators/ retailers.  
·  Implement action plans to achieve commercial targets (sell-out and sell-in management), boutique operation optimization, marketing animations, assortment review, staff training programs and incentives plan.
·  Collaborate with Client Marketing & Communication team to execute activities and animations in line with the Maison’s marketing strategy.

 

Retail operation management:  

 

·  Respect Cartier Image and guidelines with impeccable environment / visibility / image of each point of sale.
·  Set KPIs to each Boutique in order to ensure:
·  Sales objectives achievement,
·  Customer service & BTQ image excellence,
·  Implementation of action plan in BTQ to drive sales
·  Good communication & reporting to the head of Commercial  
·  Lead and guide boutique staff, in particular the Boutique Management Team (Boutique Director, Boutique Manager, CS Manager) and follow up on their training needs.
·  In charge of implementing coaching and training for all staff on product knowledge, selling skills, customer service, CRM, Booster, VM, after sales service and BTQ maintenance.
·  Ensure a thorough CRM program in all locations to reach customer service excellence.
·  Ensure the VM displays of each BTQ/POS are in line with the Maison’s guidelines.

 

 

Team management:

 

·  Report and work closely with the head of commercial.  
·  Direct management of each BTQ/POS manager.
·  Indirect management of each BTQ/POS staff (ABM, Sales associate, Inventory coordinator).

 

Network scope:

 

·  Total scope: 5-6 TRA BTQs

 

 

PROFILE & REQUIRED COMPETENCIES

 

Education :

·  Master’s Degree (Business or Engineering)

 

Professional Experience:  

·  3-5 years’ experience in Business (Retail, Wholesale or Travel Retail). Experience in luxury and/or Travel Retail is a high advantage.

Languages:

·  Fluent in English/Mandarin
·  Cantonese is a plus
