Position Summary
We're looking for a Sr. Product Designer with UX focus to join our talented design team.
Does the thought of creating the next generation products for The Weather Channel's 260

As a Sr. Product Designer, you'll be involved in every aspect of the product creation process,
from workshopping the next great innovation to tweaking pixels before launch (and beyond).
You'll utilize your range of ux design, interaction design, and visual design skills, and you'll
collaborate with other smart folks on the evolution of our flagship native apps.
At TWC we use science, data, machine learning and user-driven insights to guide our work, but
we also believe in a healthy dose of inspired storytelling as we strive to transform the landscape
of weather products.

What you'll do:
Strategy & Discovery
● Lead the user experience for our flagship core offerings from inception to launch
● Come up with bold and smart ideas that help solve user and business needs
● Turn ideas into experiences that are feasible, valuable and delightful
● Actively participate in design discovery activities to help define products and features
● Led and take part in design thinking workshops and help with user requirement
gathering
● Develop and help present proof of concepts to stakeholders
Design
● Sketch and prototype to quickly iterate on ideas
● Execute high/low fidelity wireframes and user flows that promote ease of use
● Create interaction models and UI details that optimize the user experience
● Work with user research and product managers on user testing
● Design visually arresting interfaces and visualizations that push past the obvious and
delight our fans around the globe
● Champion TWC brand and work with other designers to own, uphold and document
design style guides to achieve consistency across our properties.
● Prioritize work effectively and collaborate with product managers, developers, research
and designers as needed
● Comfortably give and take design feedback

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

● 1 year+ product or agency experience as UX designer, Product Designer, Interaction
Designer or a related field. We will consider candidates from portfolio schools and
graduate programs.
● Understand and apply the theories of design thinking and lean ux to solve problems
● Ability to identify user problems and write a testable hypothesis.
● Experience with user research and usability testing methods a plus
● Experience creating user flows / journey's and wires.
● Experience / passion for native apps (iOs/Android)
● Strong design aesthetic and the ability to generate ideas
● Working knowledge of design and prototyping tools such as Sketch, inVision, Adobe
creative suite, Principle, Mural.
● Understanding of the latest app development technologies
● Killer portfolio that proves you're making something you love (school work is ok)
