Software Engineers in IBM Hybrid Cloud design, build and deploy complex and highly reliable applications and services to provide optimum integration into Enterprise IT systems. We are looking for a Back-End Software Engineer to join the Predictive Analytics team in Chicago, IL.

Our Team
The IBM Predictive Analytics team in Chicago is focused on disrupting the Business Intelligence landscape. We are developing bleeding edge software that combines predictive modeling and machine learning techniques (the core of AI) to provide actionable and easy to understand insights that are focused on business outcomes and new opportunities.

What You'll Do
As a Predictive Analytics Software Engineer, you'll partner with co-located data scientists to research, define, and implement leading-edge predictive modelling algorithms. Through collaboration with designers and customers, you'll write code that applies additional AI technology, such as Natural Language Processing, to return easy to understand insights about the user's data. Leveraging your knowledge and experience of back-end programming languages and architecture, you'll also write the scalable and performant microservices that host the algorithms in both on-premise and cloud environments. What will you achieve in this role? You'll directly influence an INDUSTRY.

Co-located with a dynamic group of Engineers and data scientists in an agile environment, you'll also have the chance to collaborate with other geographically distributed teams in other functions such as Architecture, QA, Product Management and Delivery to learn and apply hot skills in predictive analytics, big data analytics, and machine learning. Required Technical and Professional Expertise

·  A minimum of 3 years of experience coding and debugging in one or more object-oriented programming languages including, but not limited to: Java, C#, and Scala
·  Experience with industry-accepted testing tools and frameworks such as Selenium, TestNG, JUnit, and/or Cucumber
·  Experience writing RESTful web services (1+ years)
·  Experience with Big Data frameworks such as Hadoop or Spark (1+ year)
