Ability to work independently on assigned tasks ranging from OVM to Linux. The tasks are 30% break-fix, 70% analysis/data collection/projects. Some of the work is the ticket drive, some is interrupt-driven. On a regular basis you will be doing the following:
- Creating technical plans for ticket execution
- Collecting data from servers.
- Upgrade and patch OVS and OVMM operating systems
- Configuring SAN LUN's on servers
- Working with monitoring tools like Nagios and Netcool
- Remediate security vulnerabilities in OVS
- Engage in server down situations (sev1's) to quickly and efficiently recover failed servers
- Working with Netapps NFS shares
- Occasionally you will have to rebuild the OVMM database
- Some automation scripting

Required Technical and Professional Expertise
- Experience with the full OVM visualization stack
- OVS 3.x with Xen hypervisor
- OVMM (including the CLI)
- Knowledge of X86 hardware
Preferred Technical and Professional Experience
- Some scripting ability is a plus
- Knowledge of automation tools like Chef or Ansible is a plus
