IBM Marketing & Communications Operations (MCO) Specialists support business strategies and goals to drive operational efficiency and effectiveness, transformational change and operational transactions for the Marketing & Communications function.

This role includes responsibility for tracking budget, including line item plans and progress, ledger verification and current budget outlook. You should also be able to advise, train and assist Marketers on the Marketing budget and spending approval tools. You will also need to to identify and resolve any procurement issues and be able to work with Finance to research any ledger discrepancies. You'll need to have good written and oral communication skills and should be able to clearly and confidently communicate financial terms and processes to non-finance audiences.

Previous experience in a finance or operations role and competency with financial reporting systems and tools is prerequisite for this role.

This role is also responsible for the business controls process and compliance. Consistency across the organization is required to reduce the risk for a business controls exposure. Additionally, you will support the management of education initiatives including new hire on-boarding and a wide array of other activities, as needed.

This role is located in IBM offices in Austin, Texas.

Must have the ability to work in the US without current/future need for IBM sponsorship.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

·  3+ years experience in a finance or operations position
·  Competency with financial reporting systems and tools
·  Advanced Excel skills
·  Knowledge of, and ability to interpret and apply, finance and accounting policies, practices, and systems
·  Excellent financial analytical skills combined with superior attention to detail
·  Ability to multi-task, affect change across functions, and work independently in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with a track record of delivering results
·  Degree in Business Management or closely-related major
