Do you want to become a technology expert capable of building “state of the art” client solutions at a leading company?

IBM Belgium is looking for multiple junior IT profiles with a developer background.
The candidates will grow their skills through IBM trainings and will focus on designs, developments and support of critical business applications utilizing the RPG (Report Program Generator) language, including RPG (old and RPG ILE - free format) on IBM Power systems (AS/400, Iseries, SystemI).
New members will join customer projects to deliver value contributing to the implementation of tailor-made IT/Business solutions.

Your role
As development specialist you will be responsible for developing, implementing, maintaining, and supporting IT components and interfaces and have a broad understanding of various coding methodologies, testing practices & tools and know when to apply each method to achieve the desired outcomes.
You will support the local IBM teams in charge of one or more of our customers.
You will enjoy the diverse challenges, customers, work environments and schedules that come with delivering innovative projects.
You will collaborate with IBM experts and teams around the world.

Your key missions
Develop optimized solutions, focusing on RPG language, according to the architectural components defined by the consulting and architecture team.
Collaborate with the team of IBM consultants and architects.
Continuously grow your skills to keep track with the cutting-edge technology.
As member of an Agile team, be proactive and emulate your colleagues to reach the team goals at every sprint.

Your skills
Bachelor in IT / Computer Science
2-3 years experience in developing programs using RPG technology
Adaptable, able to pick up new technologies and design techniques. Motivation to grow skills in IBM technologies
Good understanding of how IT solutions are working; understand how to translate business rrequirements outlined by the solution owner into technical interfaces
Understanding of Data Modelling (UML, sequence diagrams, activity diagrams…)
Self-motivated, detail oriented and organized
Authentic team player
Good communication (oral and written), interpersonal, organizational, and presentation skills. Ability/desire to work in a varied, fast paced environment
English: fluent speaking, writing, and speaking skills
French/Dutch: fluent in one of the 2 local languages and average to fluent in the other local language. Candidates with no knowledge of local languages will regretfully not be considered
