Job description
IBM Systems Division has openings for development engineers to support our hardware and semiconductor products. We develop industry-leading hardware for IBM Systems, storage, and related products, including System Z and System P enterprise systems. Development engineers participate in various aspects of the development and test process, such as:
· Mechanical design and technology integration
· Thermal and acoustic testing
· Circuit or logic design
· Physical design and layout
· Power system development
· Performance modeling
· Architecture
· Design test and verification
Ideal candidates will possess demonstrated design, test, and communication skills. Team-based experience in circuit/logic design, power systems, verification, analysis and/or testing is a plus. Candidates with at least three to six months of team-based work experience with hardware products are preferred but NOT required.
System Z dominates the mainframe market and is growing with Linux offerings and delivering near 0 downtime enterprise computing to emerging countries. The Watson supercomputer is built exclusively on POWER processors. This new ecosystem allows POWER to play an exciting role across many industries including healthcare, transportation, and business analytics; as new customers from different industries continue to engage Watson to tackle their toughest problems.
