Graduate Software Engineer

Job description

IBM is seeking AppOps engineers to join their software lab in Cork. IBM Ireland plays a key role in developing and supporting IBMs technology in Cloud, Analytics, Mobile, Social, Security, and Cognitive computing.

Reporting to a Development Manager and working with a global team, you will design, code, and test new product features. You will also be exposed to build automation, perform DevOps work, product documentation, and work with QA teams on defect resolution.

As a AppOps engineer, you will be part of a team responsible for developing and maintaining IBM Security services in the Cloud and on-premise. You will be involved on how to bring these services to market with the use of micro service architecture and selecting the latest technologies in order to achieve business requirements.

You will have a strong technical background which enable you to troubleshoot and resolve issues in our dev, test and production environments. Provide knowledge sharing to other team members with regard to technologies and new procedures. You must be proficient in working in a highly collaborative, fast-paced environment requiring strong communication and teamwork skills as well as the ability to adapt to shifting priorities.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

What do you need?
·  Proven experience in development, operations or systems administration
·  Hands on experience in designing, deploying, testing, monitoring and maintaining scalable, highly available services or infrastructure
·  Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related discipline or equivalent work experience
·  Solid understanding of agile software development life cycle, continuous integration and continuous delivery

·  Experience setting up monitoring solutions for infrastructure and services
·  Experience of working in a 24x7 uptime environment
