IBM Global Services is now hiring experienced professionals!

Automation Systems Management Specialists at IBM are experts who are implementing and administering tools (applications) that deliver automation to a managed systems environment. Your work will specifically drive implementation and daily operations of the strategic IBM tools that helps to manage complex environments consisting of hundreds of systems.

As an Automation Architect, you will work with: Unix environment, shell scripts, XML, SQL queries, Ember.js, Cubernetes, Docker, Chef, Ansible, Perl, Python, a full range of Java technologies, application framework, design tools and web services to design and develop solutions for the hottest emerging technology areas, including automation and cloud.

In this role, you will:

• Work with the IBM Global Services team to help clients solve a wide range of complex business and technical challenges
• Work with Service Manager to design and implement automation according to business needs
• Cooperate with Project Managers to design and implement new automation
• Cooperate with fellow colleagues responsible for other tools/applications
• Perform changes to automation environment, correlate it with monitoring, and deliver data for reporting and statistics
• Perform consulting role in decisions about involving automation in various processes: helping to increase performance, reduce cost of repetitive actions, improve availability and reliability of system, and the general health of business applications.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

You are an inventor/designer who thinks about solutions, how application could resolve common problems in systems, databases and middleware, and make decisions how to implement it in the automation application. You are not afraid of new technology and possess an eagerness to explore new tools.

You're a good fit for this role if you:

• Have practical knowledge of IT infrastructure and a proven ability to design solutions, which have quality, performance, availability and integrity
• Possess excellent team, analytical and communication skills
• Have an experience in Unix systems management, and Unix based application management
• Have an experience in 3-layer application model (web front, middleware, database in the back-end)
• Have experience using and defining best practices in application development, including evaluation and selection of development methods, processes and tools.
