- Compensation package from $113,190.00 (full-time equivalent inclusive of superannuation) and will be determined based on successful candidates relevant skills and experience.

Candidates will be joining a team of researchers and software engineers to conceive, build, test and deploy solutions for some of the world's challenging technology problems.

IBM Research is looking for Research scientist candidates to fill a position in our Health Care and Financial Services teams. We focus on designing and developing novel AI techniques, including the application of NLP, to various industries. The teams are proactive, both in publishing the work in top academic conferences and journals, as well as demonstrating its value with clients.

Ideal candidates will have expertise in several of the following areas:

• Demonstrated experience developing NLP models
• Experience extracting knowledge from complex document formats
• Lifecycle of machine learning project development
• Domain knowledge in either healthcare and life sciences or finance industry verticals.

Required Technical and Professional Experience:

• At least two years of experience after a Doctorate Degree in Computer Science or related field
• Experience in software development, within team environments, with either Python or Java
• Demonstrated experience with deep learning on top of open source frameworks
• Demonstrated academic output documented via journal/conference publications in the field
