We are currently seeking an experienced individual to join this team in the role of Management Accountant.

Finance is responsible for producing all the financial information required by the business in Jersey as well as providing all official bodies and regulators with the required data within the required timescales. The overall objectives of the Finance team are to ensure financial control, deliver to internal/external reporting requirements, lead the planning process, provide value adding analysis/MI, ensure all business decisions are profitable and achieve the AOP. The total business is complex covering personal banking, treasury and fund administration. International legal and regulatory pressures including the impact of EU tax harmonisation, HMRC in the UK and local taxation changes and increasingly stringent International Financial Reporting Standards influence the operating activities in the Offshore Islands.

In this role, you will:

· Review Operations, IT and Global Functions costs, and project cost analysis.
· Look for opportunities to reduce costs, by questioning direct and allocations from other group entities.
· Be responsible for monthly cost and project costing reporting and analysis to Host and Global Functions
· Work with Global Finance Centre (GFC) resources to produce required information
· Ensure correct and timely production of HBEU Hong Kong (Expat) Branch Financial P&L, and Balance sheet information.
· Work efficiently with other members of Finance team, to support and ensure adequate cover for the roles in Jersey.
· Provide effective/timely feedback to management of team.
· Help create a performance driven culture.
· Implement the Group Compliance Policy by containing compliance risk in conjunction with the relevant Compliance department. The term ‘compliance' embraces all relevant laws, rules and codes with which the business has to comply.
· Continually reassess the operational risks inherent in the business, taking account of changing economic or market conditions, legal and regulatory requirements, operating procedures and practices, management restructurings, and the impact of new technology.

Desired profile

Qualifications :

To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:
·  Preferably Qualified accountant, with experience of financial management and Cost control
·  Strong process management skills
·  Ability to work to tight timescales and multitask
·  Excellent planning and organisational skills with the ability to adapt to changing situations and to understand issues quickly.
·  The ability to communicate effectively with concise and logical thought flows.
·  Familiarity with financial reporting systems within previous roles, as well as office professional software.
·  Effective negotiator and ability to influence Management internally.
·  Proven team working skills in finance and across the business
·  Knowledge of bank legal entity structure
·  Knowledge of the HSBC reporting systems and process
