Global/Regional Graduates Programme Manager

Location: Pune

Role Purpose

· Manage and execute the end to end Graduates Programme within HOST. This includes Recruitment, Selection, Development and Exit of the programme building the right connection with the overall Talent Management Strategy.

· Day to day activity includes: Project management of all aspects of planning and execution for the recruitment, selection, performance management and career development activity for all Graduates in HOST. This is a global role meaning that the coordination with the regional teams is a must in order to make the programme a success.

Key Accountabilities

Impact on Business

Recruitment & Selection

· Deliver the marketing and attraction campaign for graduate hiring in conjunction with the other business lines team

· Collaborate with Talent Acquisition team/external vendors on the assessment and selection for graduates

· Candidate management post offer acceptances

· Ad-hoc recruitment related projects

Programme Management/Rotations

· Work closely with the business to drive the graduate development strategy in line with the business direction and focus

· Conduct annual global review of graduate programme and work in partnership with Business and HR Heads to globally implement any enhancements.

· Provide global direction and governance on rotation planning and allocations

· Liaise daily with senior stakeholders to understand business priorities and resourcing implications and manage placements in line with this

· Manage the permanent placement process

Stakeholder Management

· Support the Head of Talent Management to drive regular Graduate Steering Committee meetings with senior business stakeholders to gain endorsement on annual revisions to strategy and approach as well as ensuring ongoing traction and engagement in line with programme cycle

· Manage senior stakeholders globally and effectively collaborate across teams. Especially with the business and HR Generalist teams

· Partner with the relevant Centre of Expertise teams to manage the programme

Performance & Talent Management

· Drive global review and redesign of related development/performance processes to ensure full alignment to group wide frameworks

· Work closely with the business and graduates to ensure consistent, best practice approach is adopted in how graduates on rotation are managed in regards to poor performance, disciplinaries and breaches to regulatory rules

· Ensure accurate performance, talent and rotation data is collated, recorded and monitored

· Manage and engage with the Graduates to keep them on track and excited with the programme by supporting their development. Be a “coach” or “mentor” when required.

Compensation Review

· Manage the graduate compensation review with the Human Resources Generalist teams.

Global Induction Programme Management

· Collaborate with Group and HOST graduate teams on review, design, planning and execution of the Graduate Induction Programme (GAIP) including ensuring seamless execution of all logistics.

· Project management and implementation of on-going learning interventions and post programme activities

M.I. & Hiring Demand

· Ensure regular reports are shared with key stake-holders

· Responsible for the annual season review and conduct stakeholder review meetings.

Manage the annual process for determining global hiring demand and gaining Business and HR Head sign off on headcount and costs.

Miscellaneous

· Support wider global graduate recruitment and development and retention/talent initiatives / projects in line with business needs.

· Attend campus events as required

Customers / Stakeholders

· HR generalist teams, key business sponsors, graduates, vendors, Centre of Expertise, Regional Graduates Team, wider learning & talent development teams

Leadership & Teamwork

· Extensive liaison required with line management, HR generalist teams, T&A teams
· Lead and manage programme coordinator and provide adequate leadership and guidance

Major Challenges

· Will need to be able to liaise effectively with a challenging client base
· Will need to be resilient and able to deal with changing priorities
· Demonstrate creativity and implement new initiatives in line with business needs and budget
· The programme needs to move to the next level and be connected to the overall Talent Management Framework. This person will need to have the strategic and holistic view, drive to mobilise it
· Run the programme with little guidance and autonomy

Role Context

· Individual will need to be able to be proactive and work with minimal supervision
· Will work closely with global contacts responsible for graduate recruitment and development
· Must have strong influencing, engagement and stakeholder management skills and be able to drive through to delivery
· Must be keen to engage with the Graduates and support their development

· Graduates Programme valued and understood by HR and business stakeholders and graduates

Management of Risk:

Observation of Internal Controls

· Maintains HSBC internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators.

· Understands, follows and demonstrates compliance with all relevant internal and external rules, regulations and procedures that apply to the conduct of the business in which the jobholder is involved, specifically Internal Controls and any Compliance policy including, inter alia, the Group Compliance policy.

Knowledge & Experience / Qualifications & Capabilities

· Proven talent development and/or talent management experience (ideally within a global financial or professional services environment)
· Proven experience in running Graduates Programme would be a distinct advantage
· Previous generalist experience would be a distinct advantage
· Previous programme management experience
· Good understanding of performance and talent management processes and frameworks
· Graduate caliber
· Competent user of Microsoft Office (including Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
· A bachelor degree in HR/Psychology/Organisational Development and/or business disciplines or equivalent experience
· Experience in project management and leading delivery through others
· Experience of working with third party suppliers

Main capabilities required:
