Financial Controller – Small Entities - HSBC UK Bank, Finance

You will be responsible for the oversight of all aspects of financial control and reporting (UK statutory and regulatory) of key subsidiaries within the HBUK Group, as well as financial control oversight for the wider HSBC UK Group. The role provides an opportunity to work for a large organisation but have full ownership over all the finance aspects of these HBUK subsidiaries.

Key roles and responsibilities include:

Responsibility for reviewing the annual statutory accounts for HBUK subsidiaries and supporting the external audit of these companies

Oversight of related regulatory reporting to the FCA, PRA and Bank of England

·
Oversight of Group Reporting for HBUK subsidiaries, and the ownership of balance sheet reconciliations where required

·
Oversight and management of all financial accounting and month end processes and providing guidance and oversight to teams based in the Global Finance Operations Centre (GFOC) which support these processes

·
Support the business in strategic decision making through impact analysis for the financial control elements of any changes

·
Oversight of Operational Accounting Risk and Control Framework for HBUK and subsidiaries

Desired profile



Qualifications :

To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:

· 
The individual will have a formally recognised finance qualification, with strong experience of IFRS

· 
Ability to work and thrive in a fast changing, results driven environment

· 
Strong financial accounting and reporting background, both in terms of required content, production processes and understanding what drives the numbers reported

· 
Solid controls background (internal or external audit experience is ideal)

·  Regulatory and Group reporting knowledge
The base location for this role is 1 Centenary Square, Birmingham.
