Role Summary/Purpose

This role is for a technical expert responsible for the design and implementation of front end solutions focused on Onboarding technologies, mobile technologies and automation. The role would require the candidate to leverage their hands-on integration and full stack experience to design and implement solutions that integrate with current and future enterprise technologies, including GE-developed mobile apps and third-party cloud software platforms.
Essential Responsibilities

·  Effectively engage global teams and experts to architect and design sound/supportable technology solutions with high business impact

·  Design and implement contemporary front-end solutions on mobile platforms and integrated with third-party cloud technologies to improve employee experience through a contemporary and consistent global Onboarding process

·  Implement technical standards, resolve complex system issues, and ensure product management teams have the necessary tools, environments and resources

·  Lead application architecture, design, debugging and performance analysis

·  Perform detailed design and code reviews

·  Create user stories based upon persona analysis and journey mapping

·  Interpret, modify or produce documented IT application frameworks or architectures

·  Research development in assigned technology, validate business requirements, proposes changes, develop migration and implementation plans, and execute associated projects

·  Develop and maintain relationships with key strategic vendors and peers

·  Provide input into the technology plan for the IT organization, and ensure that plans for their assigned applications integrate effectively with other aspects of the technical infrastructure

·  Teach and mentor others to develop their technical expertise

·  Continuously strengthen own technical expertise

·  Lead programs and projects in support of the strategic initiatives related with incident reduction, simplification, process excellence, security and compliance

·  Ensure the quality and delivery of the SLA’s by partnering with the IT solution providers and GE IT Product managers
Qualifications/Requirements

Basic Qualifications

·  Bachelor’s Degree in business, computer science or in “STEM” Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math)

·  A minimum of 5 years of experience in software/IT industry

Desired Characteristics

·  A minimum of 3 years of professional experience in Application Engineering

·  Broad technical breadth and depth including APIs and integrations with SaaS products, mobile technology, user experience, web services and back-end application infrastructure

·  Strong knowledge of Object Oriented Analysis and Design, Software Design Patterns and Java coding principles

·  Experience in JavaScript, HTML5 and CSS3

·  Experience in integration technologies like SOA

·  Experience in authentication and authorization protocols like OAuth2, Open ID Connect

·  Demonstrates the initiative to explore alternate technology and approaches to solving problems

·  Able to verbalize what is behind decisions and downstream implications

·  Continuously reflect on success and failures to improve performance and decision-making.

·  Understand when change is needed.

·  Participate in technical strategy planning

·  Demonstrated ability to quickly understand new concepts and analyze system deficiencies

·  Passionate about security and the quality of the applications they support

·  Organized, thorough, and detail oriented

·  Strong analytical skills – strong problem-solving skills, communicates in a clear and succinct manner and effectively evaluates information / data to make decisions; anticipates obstacles and develops plans to resolve

·  Maintain excitement for a process and drives to new directions of meeting the goal even when odds and setbacks render one path impassable

·  Innovate and integrate new processes and/or technology to significantly add value to GE

·  Experience with working in an Agile development methodology

·  Own product roadmap build out releases, manage backlog and drive persona-based development

·  Formulate and define scope and objectives through fact-finding to develop or modify complex software programming applications or information systems

·  Analyze business requirements/user problems to determine feasibility of application or design within time and cost constraints

·  Experience working with an off-shore development team

·  High level of energy and enthusiasm, with the ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced setting
