Role Summary/Purpose

As Oracle EBS DBA, this position is responsible to work closely with the Oracle Engineering team to support DBA activity related to performance, availability, tuning, diagnostics data of EBS instances. Partner with Oracle EBS teams in the design, development, and implementation of IT solutions. As a strong team player, you will partner with functional leaders, platform architect, applications architect and operations leader.
Essential Responsibilities

• Analyze, design and develop a roadmap, design pattern, and implementation plan based upon a current vs. future state in a cohesive database and infrastructure architecture viewpoint
• Design and Implement Oracle database solutions that meet performance, security, high availability and other business requirements
• Serve as the technical DBA expert on projects designed to improve stability, application availability and/or meet changing business requirements
• Implement, maintain and design Oracle databases in support of the development lifecycle of new applications and integrations, and enhancements to existing modules
• Provide technical direction to DBA and Development teams and assist less experienced administrators in problem resolution
• Perform operational DBA duties, including backup and recovery, proactive performance tuning, upgrades, cloning, patching, and security review in a large-scale, mission critical environment
• Ensure our GDC vendors provide appropriate level of service. Measuring the progress of GDC engagements and correcting where necessary. Mentoring and growing IT talent
• Research DB technology, determine business requirements, propose changes, and develop migration and implementation plans
• Provide evaluation, architecture, and integration skills to implement and support 3rd Party products within the Oracle framework
• Architect HA/DR solutions to ensure application availability and business continuity requirements are achieved
• Contribute to overall capacity planning and configuration management of the supporting infrastructure
• Perform or review audit vulnerability assessments and implement remediation
• Identify and lead automation of repetitive processes to minimize errors and maximize service delivery
• Develop prototypes and/or proof of concepts to introduce helpful, new technologies
• Research and evaluate emerging data technology, industry and market trends to assist in project development and/or operational support activities
• Provide guidance to technical teams on the implementation of new and existing standards, processes, tools and best practices
• Demonstrate understanding of business priorities, strategic needs/opportunities, and applicable data and analytics technologies to build the best solutions
Qualifications/Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science related field, or equivalent relevant experience
• Minimum 6 years of experience in Oracle 11G and 12c database administration including implementations, upgrades, and performance tuning (SQL, OEM, and PL/SQL)
• Minimum 6 years of experience with Linux and or Solaris operating systems
• Minimum 6 years of experience authoring and maintaining UNIX shell scripts
• Minimum 6 years of experience with problem analysis/resolution for O/S, database, and middle tier technologies
• Minimum 3 years’ experience supporting high availability and disaster recovery solutions
• Minimum 3 years of experience in Oracle RAC, Dataguard and Grid control
Desired Characteristics

• Experience in Oracle 12C
