Role Summary/Purpose

Provides coordination, creates and executes on customs strategy affecting customs transactions on behalf of GE businesses. Primary operational responsibility is import and export reconciliation process with Customs and Border Protection (CBP). Develop expertise in import regulations and their application to various functional activities. Develop and implement new procedures that assure the highest level of import compliance.
Essential Responsibilities

• Emphasis on E-Handbook Management including application/ update/verification and implementation of e-Handbook. 
• Monitor handbook's importation and exportation balance and update system timely, bonded materials management 
• Maintain digital system to review monthly Handbook variances & related risks  
• Manage the WUXI Healthcare product database, including country of origin, tariff classification, etc. Responsible for approving new products as they are rolled out to the Greater China region and determining the Chinese tariff classifications 
• Assist regional operations to implement required trade compliance programs, including bonded production initiative/ E-handbook deployment 
• Develop centralized management way for Handbook under new GE Customs delivery model

Qualifications/Requirements

• BA Degree in Logistics, International Trade, Finance/Accounting or equivalent, preferable with post-graduate qualifications in regulation, trade finance, supply chain. 
• minimum experience of 5 years’ of in bonded production and/or trade compliance related positions 
• experience with Harmonized Tariff Schedule, customs valuation, origin determination, customs & international processes, Supply Chain security programs, APAC regional export controls, US export and re-export 
• experience in implementing cross functional processes and procedures 
• well organizational, priority management and planning skills 
• exceptional communication and interpersonal skills enabling communication with professionals and people of all levels, and to operate effectively within a team environment 
• proven problem solving and decision making skills 
• verbal and written communications skills in English
 
• basic computer literacy and knowledge of software, such as Word, Excel, Spreadsheets, PowerPoint, Access and Visio
