JOB PURPOSE/ROLE

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Complete reinsurance statements, including reconciling reinsurance premium and claim accounts, settling reinsurance balances, recording reinsurance contracts (treaties), communicating with reinsurers.
Assist in the completion of audited financial statements and coordinate data requests for external audits and state examinations relating to the statutory underwriting results.
Stay abreast of IFRS and STAT accounting policy changes and ensure compliance with reporting requirements.
Archive records to satisfy audit and statutory requirements.
Assist in project work as assigned.
KEY REQUIREMENTS/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE

Bachelor Degree: Accounting, Finance or Business degree
Certification: CPA Preferred
3-5 years of P&C insurance industry experience in Reinsurance Billing, Collections and reporting.
Knowledge and experience in dealing with various Reinsurance programs (Treaty & Facultative).
Knowledge and understanding of Statutory Accounting and Technical Reinsurance Accounts . Good understanding of Operational booking processes.
Knowledge and experience in dealing with various multi currency systems and accounting for multi currencies
Knowledge and understanding of standard accounting (GAAP) and P&C (Statutory) insurance and reinsurance practice and principles.
Strong organizational, analytical and multi-tasking skills necessary to manage multiple deadlines and changing priorities in a faced paced environment.
Ability to collaborate with others, adapt to change and accept challenging assignments.
Experience with SAP/BW/Cognos and proficient in Microsoft Office products.
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Ability to prioritize responsibilities and processes
Organizational, analytical, documentation and multi-tasking skills to manage multiple deadlines in fast-paced environment.
