A work-study offer in “exploring training data properties for a certifiable software based on ML technology” (m/f) has just been opened within Airbus on our site where the internship is to take place.
You will join the department EYDZ whose mission is to anticipate future regulation for new technologies and prepare them with Industry and Airworthiness Authorities.

This internship is to be filled for 6 month , from January (date subject to a certain flexibility)

You will be under the responsibility of a manager who will help you identify your professional objectives and support you in the development of your skills.

Tasks & accountabilities

As part as the certification process, AIRBUS has to demonstrate that a safety critical software is compliant with its intended use in its operational context and that any residual problem does not jeopardize the safety requirements. Machine learning and specifically Artificial Neural Network (ANN) technology will be widely used in software design in the next future.
The main objective of this internship will be to investigate the properties of the training set of data, the ANN-based algorithm and the related training process that could conduct to a measurable and acceptable result.

SPECIFIC TASKS

·  Quick familiarization with the industrial context (Safety, Regulation, Assurance)
·  Refine the scope of the study and the related assumptions (functional needs and related safety objectives)
·  Find a methodology to evaluate the ANN algorithm performances versus the functional needs
·  Identify the properties of the training data that makes ANN algorithm performance compatible with functional needs and safety objectives
·  Instantiate this methodology to AI projects already launched internally at AIRBUS
·  Translate this methodology into guidance to prevent non-certifiable design

Required skills

Holder of a diploma at Bac+5 level, you are looking for a 6-month internship to validate your diploma or a related discipline.

You are enrolled student within AI technology applied to industrial engineering, Computer Science or similar field of study
You are a good team player, have excellent communication skills and are able to work independently with a proactive approach

You have an advanced level in English and in French.
