Description of the job

Airbus (Saint-Martin) is looking for a Data scientist Intern to support avionics testing digitalisation's transformation for a 6-month internship. This internship will start in January/February 2017 (subject to some flexibility).

You will join the EVYY department which responsibility is to perform Integration Test and Flight Test Analysis for Avionics Systems.

Tasks & accountabilities

In the scope of the EV digitalization deployment for airbus A/C programs and in particular in big data, the department is proposing an internship with the following objectives:

·  Understand the big data environment.
·  Identify available data to support the project.
·  Acquiring data from data sources and internal databases; filtering and consolidating data to prepare the data for further analysis.
·  Interpreting and correlating data, analysing results using statistical technics and providing reports.
·  Identifying, analysing and interpreting trends or patterns in complex data sets.
·  Presenting the analysis results in a way that is easily understood and used by business experts.
·  Specifying the algorithms used for interpretation and analysis and preparing these algorithms for industrialisation.

For those purposes, you will work closely with all avionics test specialists and in the team in charge of Big data deployment to combine statistical analysis and technical approaches within the test big data environment.

Required skills

We are looking for candidates with the following skills and experience:

·  You are in the last year of a Master's degree in IT and/or Mathematics specialising in Data Science and Big Data and looking for a 6 months internship.
·  Good knowledge of Statistic Methods and Data Analysis.
·  Experience programming in Python or C.
·  Experience with one of the following Data Processing tools: SpotFire, Qlik View, Splunk would be an advantage.
·  You have a strong interest for Data Science and Big Data.
·  You are autonomous and proactive and have excellent interpersonal skills.
·  You have a negotiation level in French and advanced level in English.
