Our client a leading provider of vehicle test and validation services and systems to customers is looking for a Stores Person to join their Special Vehicles Stores team based in Millbrook, Bedfordshire. The role is offered via Adecco on a 12 months contract basis paying £12/hour, working 40 hours per week Mon to Friday.

The Special Vehicles Stores Team maintain material stock levels in support of vehicle production in the Armoured Vehicles, Vehicle Conversions, and Special Projects Departments. This role would contribute and be responsible for receipt of deliveries, goods inspections, goods accounting, production support and issue management.

In this role as a Special Vehicle Stores Person, you would be required to:

·  Receive, check and locate material consignments

·  Book in material receipts on MIS (Management Information System)

·  Pick and pack material consignments for dispatch both internally and externally

·  Pick and collate materials for production build to schedules from various onsite Stores/Warehouses

·  Collect and deliver offsite supplier/customer consignments

·  Engage with internal and external stakeholders to ensure efficient and reliable stock control and provision for production

·  Assist with stock takes and conduct regular cyclic stock checks

·  Engage in the continuous improvement activities of the Business to improve processes

·  Act in accordance with the behaviours for staff at all times

Required Experience, Skills and Qualifications:

·  Previous experience of working within a busy Stores/Warehouse and production environment.

·  Experience within an engineering stores environment would be advantageous, but not essential.

·  Basic numeracy and literacy

·  A fork truck (Reach & Balance) license would be advantageous, although not essential as training will be provided.

·  Methodical and organized to ensure accurate system and documentation recording to ensure zero parts shortages and timely material deliveries

·  Computer literate and have experience of various Microsoft software packages including Word, Excel and Outlook.

·  Attention to detail and accuracy

·  Good general housekeeping

·  Flexible/Adaptable

·  Team orientated

·  Self-motivated, conscientious, reliable, proactive and punctual

·  Ability to use own initiative with work with minimal supervision

·  Be part of Continuous Improvement discussions

·  Mindful of Health & Safety issues

·  Willing to work occasional overtime

·  Flexibility to travel as and when required

·  Full UK driving license due to the nature of location

·  Willing to undergo a DBS disclosure check

·  Please note you would be required to undertake and pass a medical examination for this role.
