Job Purpose
The Marketing Officer, working within a small Marketing Team, will have responsibility for the promotion of a portfolio of courses and for developing and delivering creative, high quality student recruitment and conversion campaigns and activities to ensure recruitment targets are met. The postholder will have effective planning and organisational skills, be able to measure and evaluate data and impact, and have experience in media buying, creating and updating web content, digital analytics, email marketing and promotion via social channels. Familiarity with social media scheduling, event management, market research and targeted digital advertising and optimisation is desirable. The successful candidate will also be able to demonstrate strong skills in writing for digital and print, high standards, initiative and attention to detail.

1. Manage the promotion of a portfolio of programmes, acting as the primary liaison for colleagues in associated Faculties and departments
2. Monitor, measure, record and evaluate the effectiveness and ROI of digital and traditional campaign elements, using reporting and analytics tools as appropriate (e.g. Google Analytics, Dotmailer campaign reports etc)
3. As required, work directly with agencies to deliver campaign commitments
4. Use student profile and market information to inform campaign planning
Advertising
5. Research and establish suitable channels for advertising to prospective students
6. Generate persuasive and accurate copy and content, incorporating agreed University key messages and University Editorial Style Guidelines
7. Generate print and digital creative briefs for the in-house Graphic Designer, ensuring
use of agreed templates and following University Brand Guidelines
8. Proofread with a strong attention to detail

Event Management and Merchandise

9. Work with Student Recruitment colleagues to plan, manage and attend recruitment events, including open days and open evenings
10. Engage with stakeholders and ensure their support of events
11. Create and manage pre- and post-event communications via email and social channels
12. Undertake merchandise audits, liaise with suppliers and maintain merchandise and collateral
Direct Marketing
13. Use email marketing tools (e.g. Dotmailer) to create html e-bulletins, e- newsletters and emails
14. Manage direct marketing email/e-bulletin campaigns to prospective students and partners
Website and Portals
15. Use a web-based content management system to create, manage and maintain content for programmes and schools on the University website
16. Create, manage and maintain programme, schools, University profile information and listings on a range of external application and third-party portals and websites
17. Create new web pages, event pages and landing pages to support campaigns
Other Duties
18. Comply with regulatory obligations for higher education and marketing
19. Keep informed of changes in the macro and micro environments which impact higher education and marketing
20. Keep up to date with professional best practice and promote best practice in your working environment
21. Willingness to work outside normal office hours if required
22. Assume other reasonable duties, as necessary, as determined by the Marketing Operations Manager and/or Head of Marketing, Brand and Communications
