Key tasks

PROFILE / PERSONALITY
• Provide a friendly and personalised welcome for our guests
• Is attentive and responds to guests' in an appropriate manner
• Heed any comments made by guests and ensure follow-up
• Convey the image of the brand and the hotel

OVERVIEW OF DUTIES / MISSION

Customer Relations:
• Provides a high standard of service both in terms of welcome and waiter service.
• Serves guests (prepares the dining room, provides waiter service and clears away) at the point of sale and in line with the F&B concept (bar & restaurant).
• Provides a friendly and personalised welcome for guests
• Offers attentive service and adapts to any constraints guests may have
• Heeds any remarks made by guests and ensures follow-up
• Establishes good relations with guests, offering advice and fostering customer loyalty
• Promotes the F&B offer
• Is attentive to guests' requests and respects them
• Helps gain customer loyalty through the high standard of service

Professional Techniques / Production:
• Serves meals and ensures buffets are topped up and look appealing
• Knows all the food & beverage products and prepares and serves food outside of the kitchen's opening hours.
• Manages the stock and setup for the bar in line with brand standards
• Serves guests at the bar and in the restaurant, organising his/her work to suit fluctuations in numbers
• Ensures the equipment used remains in good condition
• Applies the procedures for opening and closing a point of sale
• Offers detailed advice to guests on all the services provided by the hotel
• Promotes special offers, cocktails and full range of products
• Helps to creates an appropriate atmosphere for the hotel's F&B concept
• Develops revenue through additional sales techniques
• May be asked to receive deliveries and check food items
• Communicates and works in close and constant cooperation with the kitchen and Reception to ensure an excellent standard of service
• Complies with laws and regulations surrounding sale of alcohol and with company policy on the same

Hygiene / Personal safety / Environment:
• Ensures that the workplace remains clean and tidy and the safety of consumable goods by always respecting HACCP regulations
• Respects the instructions and safety guidelines for the equipment used
• Applies the hotel's security regulations (in case of fire etc)
• Applies regulations governing the sale of alcoholic beverages
• Applies the ISO 9001 quality certification requirements that impact his/her role
• Respects the hotel's commitments to the 'Environment Charter' (saving energy, recycling, sorting waste etc) and meets Ibis' ISO 14001 environmental commitments as applicable to the role, if the hotel is involved in the programme.
