The Business
We provide risk consulting and financial modeling software solutions primarily to the insurance industry. We help clients improve business performance and create competitive advantage in areas related to financial and regulatory reporting, enterprise risk management, M&A and corporate restructuring, and product and market strategies.
Our insurance consulting business helps clients improve business performance. We use our deep analytical skills to solve practical business problems, applying the latest techniques and software solutions to help clients measure and manage risk and capital, grow revenue and create competitive advantage.
The Role
As an entry level associate within Risk Consulting & Software (RCS) you will be responsible for providing assistance in the management of projects within the RCS team.
Performance Objectives:
Clients
· Deliver tasks that meet or exceed client expectation
· Increase efficiency within client teams by identifying ways to improve processes
· Monitor progress to deadlines and budget
Excellence
· Assist with business planning, pricing, valuations, product development, design and sales of life insurance products
· Support Merger and Acquisition projects and insurance company restructurings and floatations
· Assist with market entry strategies and research, financial reporting (appraisal/embedded value, China GAAP, IFRS & US GAAP)
People
· Build strong relationships internally and with client representatives
· Demonstrate natural ease and effectiveness when dealing with clients/colleagues at all levels
· Seek and participate in key learning and development opportunities/maintain steady progress through exams
Financial
· Meet billable hours targets
The Requirements
General Requirements:
· Bachelor’s degree or above in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics or numerate related fields
· Minimum GPA of 3.0 or above
· Chinese ID Holder or Permanent Residence pass holders only
· Mother Tongue in Mandarin
· Graduate between late 2016 to July 2017
Other Requirements:
· Undertaking an approved actuarial qualification and be part way through the exams
· Strong computer/programming skills (i.e. spreadsheets, databases, VBA)
· Written and spoken fluency in English and Chinese
· Strong actuarial and technical analytical skills
· Able to work independently as well as contribute effectively as a team player
· Attention to detail and commitment to task
· Well organized, able to handle a variety of assignments and meet tight deadlines
· Knowledge on SAS/GLM preferred for non-life insurance consulting
