Description of the Project
NNB GenCo Hinkley Point C (HPC) in Somerset, UK is a major infrastructure project for delivery of two 1 600 MW European Pressurised Water (EPR) reactors. The project is currently in enabling phases with engineering through the EDF departments of CNEN & SOFINEL (Paris and Bristol) and CNEPE (Tours).
Tunzini Nucléaire, with its two industrial partners, have been selected as preferred bidder for the detailed design, qualification, procurement, construction and commissioning of Classified Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) systems. Works are underway to prepare the contract with early equipment qualification, technical and constructability studies, estimating and scheduling.

Description of the Role
•Reporting to the Design Manager, he/she is responsible for all the design studies, realization and commissioning of HVAC system(s)
•They will be the technical responsible engineer for their HVAC system(s), interfacing with customers, industrial partners and suppliers, and shall represent Tunzini at all times in a professional manner and according to the company vision and values
•They will provide guidance and instruction to calculation engineers (aeraulic, seismic and acoustic), project engineers, PDMS designers, and AutoCAD designers.
•They will be based in the offices at Le Pecq, France with occasional travel to customer and partner offices in Paris, Tours, Lille, Grenoble, Bristol (UK) and Crawley (UK).

Responsibilities
•To lead the technical development of HVAC system(s) through design, detailed design, procurement, construction and commissioning
•To perform their technical deliverables according to the objectives, input data, applicable processes and outputs defined by the Design Manager
•To ensure the technical work is performed in a manner to reduce the Health, Safety and Environmental risks and impacts
•To ensure the technical work is performed in accordance with specification, quality, regulatory and legal requirements
•To follow the execution of deliverables, resolving technical issues
•To technically review and verify deliverables for their content, accuracy, consistency, quality and completeness
•Support the Design Manager to assess the % of progress, remaining work and due date for completion
•To identify, capture and manage technical risks and opportunities

Experience / Skills
•Experience in the engineering, realization and commissioning of complex HVAC systems in highly regulated sectors
•At least 3 years' experience of nuclear HVAC systems, or no less than 5 years for non-nuclear projects and major projects
•Demonstrate a commitment to quality and safety
•Knowledge of regulatory requirements, international and European standards and industry code of practice
•Experience in coordinating HVAC and mechanical calculation engineers, and PDMS/AutoCAD draftsmen
•Experience in detailed engineering studies involving 3D software packages (ideally PDMS)
•Knowledge of aeraulic calculation (FlowMaster) and an understanding of structural calculation software (Staad-Pro, Robot, Ansys etc)
•Ability to expedite technical studies
•Written and oral fluency in English and French

Qualifications
•Master's Degree / BAC+5 in mechanical / energy / thermal engineering
•Ideally Chartered or Incorporated Engineer status
