Security Officer

Position summary:

General function of the Security Officer is to oversee people entering and exiting the plant, assist with truck scale operations, provide emergency assistance, fire alarm system monitoring, and monitor plant grounds for any unusual activities that could compromise the safety or property of Unilever and it's employees.

List of Principle Duties:

To greet visitors, contractors, and vendors professionally to the factory. A friendly and professional attitude is required at all times.

Manage the sign in and exit of all foot or vehicle traffic (visitors, contractors, and vendors that enter and exit through the Security Office or truck scale).

Answer the phone for all outside calls and deal with internal calls.

Operate the truck scale weight system to support the site Warehouse operations and manage the supporting paperwork.

To help enforce factory plant safety rules (e.g., make sure that truckers and visitors have safety glasses when entering the manufacturing areas and are dressed in proper attire).

To help enforce plant yard rules (e.g., truck deliveries of raw materials, pick-up of finished product, traffic speed, parking locations, etc.)

To follow emergency procedures as it pertains to Security role for fire, extreme weather, medical, etc.

Can conduct inspection of contractor vehicles, personal gear (bags, ice chests, etc.) and tools to prevent theft of Unilever property. Check for package pass if vendors or Unilever personnel are taking items out of the factory.

Monitor the fire alarm system. Report and confirm alarms. Report trouble alarm issues.

Maintain Security records, logs, and files.

Check out radios and air monitor meters for confined space use.

To control keys in the Security Office

Provide basic medical attention to employees (must pass training for CPR, AED, blood borne pathogen, and basic first aid).

Dispense basic OTC medications to employees.

Work with the on-site nurse for medical concerns.

Clean and keep the Security Office and company vehicle in order.

Have a basic working knowledge of computers.

Monitor and record department overtime.

Operate the company vehicle to make rounds inspecting Unilever property or may run errands for the company (must have a valid driver's license).

Use the plant camera system to monitor for unusual activities and report to management.

Report any suspicious or unusual activities to management.

Deliver mail to the mailroom, retrieve overnight packages and letters for express mail carriers.

Any medical training (first aid, EMT) is preferred as well.

Education requirements:

Must have High School Diploma or GED

Experience:

Previous security guard experience a plus

Must have valid driver's license

Previous first aid and or EMT experience a plus.
