Role Title : Machine Operator
Location : Port Sunlight
Salary : Starting salary of £22,558 increasing to £25,063 upon completion of development journey
Shift : Full time hours, shift pattern allocated on appointment, could include rotating pattern and nights and is subject to change
Role Overview:
The role of Machine Operator is responsible for the safe operation of production equipment to deliver customer requirements through completion of the production plan, adhering to safety and quality standards, maximising cost effectiveness, optimal running and equipment efficiency. A Machine Operator will be involved in change, for example, when there is a new case design and therefore a trialling process. They will need to get involved in order to track successes and failures, to feed back the issues and improvements which need addressed.
What will my accountabilities be ?
· Ensure Company safety policy, rules and procedures are understood and followed at all times
· Manufacture products in accordance with quality procedures and standards to achieve the required product quality targets at minimal waste levels
· Record all quality data as required and any non-conformance following Consumer Relevant Quality Standards procedures
· Take immediate actions to rectify quality issues & be involved in investigations into non-conformances
Identify and support improvements in order to reduce Cost, Waste and Energy

Support engineers on the breakdown analysis and countermeasures
Carry out cleaning, inspections, lubrication and constantly monitor equipment condition to anticipate, breakdowns or any unplanned stoppages.
Required skills / experience:
Experience in a food manufacturing, or other FMCG / pharmaceutical environment
Logical
Strong attention to detail
GCSE (or equivalent) in Maths / English
Experience of warehouse system
Confident making decisions quickly
Flexible approach to work as required in a 24/7 manufacturing environment
A logical mindset, able to identify, prioritise and address problems using tools and techniques (WCM, 5why analysis) that eliminate reoccurrence
