Role Overview:

The France Tax Manager will support the Tax Director on all activities related to direct and indirect tax matters for Unilever’s French companies. The role is a tax business partner role which involves building and maintaining relationships with stakeholders around the business and acting as their first point of contact for advice for the operating and holding companies within France. The role will lead a team of 2 Seniors and 1 Junior.

Within this role, travel can represent up to 10% of the time.

Location: Rueil-Malmaison, France

Key Accountabilities:

·  Proactively partner with the business, advising on day-to-day issues from French tax perspective
·  Provide French tax input on group reorganisations, acquisitions, disposals and other projects.
·  Working on and overseeing the quarterly tax reporting, preparing ETR and cash tax forecasts and identifying uncertain tax positions (if necessary) for the French entities
·  Proactively managing, monitoring and enhancing the tax control framework, working with the global tax team
·  Overseeing preparation of the annual tax returns by outsourced providers, review of the local statutory accounts tax disclosures and commenting on draft financial statements
·  Support the Tax Director in all areas from France tax perspective and to maintain a strong and cooperative relationship with French tax authorities, in line with the Unilever Global Tax Principles.
·  Consideration of tax legislative changes, including OECD developments and proactively advising relevant stakeholders.
·  Leading and developing direct reports, by training and coaching the team members.

Skills:

·  Strong proven ability and 10 or more years’ experience in preferably a French corporate tax department or a major international accounting or law firm, with up-to-date knowledge of local French corporate tax systems, international tax, transfer pricing, direct and indirect tax compliance.
·  Experience in tax accounting, tax risk management and transfer pricing is a strong plus
·  Controls mindset, including proactively assessing risk
·  Time and project management skills, including a strong bias for action
·  Strong relationship building and stakeholder management skills
·  Team player and result driven
·  Flexibility in mindset and ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks
·  Presentation and oral and written communication skills
·  Fluent in French and good in English
·  Strong Excel skills
