MAIN JOB PURPOSE:

Home Care accounts for 20% of Unilever's Turnover and 10% of Operating Profit. It includes €1bn brands Dirt is Good & Surf and other brands like Comfort, Sunlight & Domestos. The category generates 80% of its sales in emerging markets where strong future growth is most likely and holds number one position in 7 out of its top 10 markets. Its strategic role is to step up profitability in Laundry and scale Household Care.

The objective of the role is to support the Home Care team, being the finance business partner through:

· Developing business cases for Global innovations
· Assisting the Global Finance Manager in key innovation projects with financial analysis and strategic presentations
· Build strategic plans with the marketing team, making recommendations on how to improve profitability and growth.
· Assist the marketing team with budget planning: drive behaviours and ensure accuracy of planned spend.
· Monitoring Brand business performance and providing critical information and support to the global brands team

JOB SUMMARY

· Working as part of a team on cross-functional performance interventions

· Drive development of large Innovation Business Cases

· Business Model development and development of external insights into category and competitors

· Strategic planning and alignment between projects, brands and Category

· Building and sharing best practices and learnings

· Support new brand innovation launches

· Big Cell performance interventions

· Strategic pricing & pricing mix optimisation

· Portfolio change

· Detailed competitor studies

· Business model improvement plans (e.g. gross margin, cash)

· Sustainability

· Work with project/brand directors/managers on large innovation business cases

· Use financial insight to influence decisions

· Liaise with Senior Finance Business Partners:

· Present progress and key messages from project work

· Escalate major risks and issues for support with mitigation and resolution

· Request analysis and insight from specific Finance Excellence Team subject matter experts

· Work with I&A on Information Management and specific analytics where relevant

KEY REQUIREMENTS :

· Strong analytical skills, Excel modelling skills and attention to detail

· Strong engagement, presentation and communication skills

· High degree of flexibility and ability to quickly understand new topics

· Commercial acumen

· Ability to work collaboratively with other key stakeholders

· Resilience (ability to cope with time pressure and challenges)

· Creative and innovative

· Part Qualified or Qualified Accountant
