Job Description

Objective 1: Recommend credit limits and credit terms new counterparties in the portfolio.
Action: Analyze and monitor the credit worthiness of each counterparty, by necessary financial analysis, credit and bank references in order to recommend credit limits and term. Negotiate documentation and payment terms with counterparties (including parent guarantees). Build and manage relationships with peers at industry credit organizations.

Objective 2: Update of the credit review files of existing counterparties.
Action: Perform annual reviews of existing counterparties including financial statement analysis and historical exposure analysis.  Analyze KYC (Know Your Customer) of each counterparty to be included within the credit review.

Objective 3: Serve as back-up for trade finance operator.
Action: Review exposure to determine when security/collateral is needed and review incoming letters of credit for acceptability.  Assist with bank silent cover/discounting process for internal working capital optimization. Objective 4: Generate summaries of macro and micro view of the Oil and Gas sector.
Action: Collect and analyze market intelligence data, follow-up of counterparties in the portfolio depending on current events.

Context & Environment: Trading company with dynamic operations requiring daily "must-do" responsibilities.
Decisions are made within the context and the requirements of the commercial objectives.
Strong autonomy is required. Counterparties and issues encountered can be very diverse.
Strong international exposure.

Accountabilities: Ensure a secured and efficient management of the credit risk for the company through a credit risk analysis of each counterparty, proposal of credit limits and terms. Monitor the exposure of the portfolio.

Qualifications/Experience Required: 5-7 years credit experience in high paced trading environment in international oil&gas trading business, or in the international commodity trading arm of a bank. Strong knowledge of crude oil and products trading, and financial instruments used in the industry. Fluency in Spanish preferred.  Trade Finance experience and knowledge of Power BI is a plus.
