Job Description :

Joining our teams you belong to the advanced project and Research & Technology team in charge of studies and early designs for future spacecraft platforms.

In the frame of this activity, the intern will upgrade a Data Handling modeling tool based on NS3: MOST (Modeling of SpaceWire Networks), enabling the modeling of SpaceWire networks for satellite missions. New SpaceWire standards are being issued enabling upgrades in next generation on-board networks such as deterministic communications, plug & play and fibre-based systems (SpaceFibre).

The primary objective of this internship is to upgrade MOST with extended libraries and model SpaceCraft architectures based on these technologies. SpaceWire and SpaceFibre are being standardized through ECSS (European Cooperation for Space Standardization) and is being used worldwide on new satellites (ESA, NASA, JAXA, ROSCOSMOS, ...). MOST is an open source software developped by Thales Alenia Space for ESA (European Space Agency). Depending on the progress of this activity, contacts with agencies and industrial partners might occur, and the modeling of alternative communication technologies might be required.

This internship will enable developing skills in embedded flight networks , their actual usage for space missions and network analysis as support to data handling architects. It will be performed through development of new protocols models and their validation through representative use-cases of spacecraft avionics.

Technical skills :
- Master's degree in network & software
- Master modeling tools such as Matlab, Labview, NS3 or OPNET
- A good level in UML modeling is required, along with skills in networks & protocols

- Knowledge in C/C++ programming
- You can speak, read and write technical documentation in English
