The Role

Tesla’s Powertrain manufacturing teams are growing and with this growth comes the need for training. We’re Tesla, so we aren’t looking for ordinary, run-of-the-mill training; we’re looking for innovative, engaging and impactful training that can thrive in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment. You’ll need to have creativity, drive and the skills to execute with little structure.

In this role you will develop a strategy for the training given to everyone in our powertrain organization from production associates and maintenance, to engineers and managers. You will design, deliver and execute training and training processes.This is an incredible opportunity to impact the culture of Powertrain, and prepare the manufacturing teams for their roles in Powertrain, and develop them to become effective problem solvers.

Responsibilities

·  Design training Strategy and processes. Drive to impementation and adoption.
·  Establish personal, team and organization goals, clear responsibilities, metrics, feedback loops and action items to achieve goals.
·  Help to develop and deliver problem solving strategy and approach to support our departmental growth
·  Ensure smooth administration of operations, and communication associated with training programs.
·  Coach, mentor, and develop Powertrain staff to be problem solvers, coaches, and trainers themselves
·  Develop and Conduct Training to all levels and functionalities within Powertrain
·  Plan and manage training events including booking rooms, managing enrollment, securing supplies and equipment, booking trainers, setting up and tearing down space, etc.
·  Source external training resources as needed, that align with company culture.
·  Assess the quality, efficacy, and alignment to business goals of training initiatives. Revise, and create as needed. Keep stakeholders informed of results and progress.
·  Work with Managers, Supervisors, Leads, and Work Station Trainers on training plans and coordinating schedules with their group.
·  Promotes continuous improvement of all training programs .
·  Perform and Guide process audits & Problem Solving activities
·  Work with Powertrain team to create curriculums and courses in LMS and refine curriculums as needed.
·  Create Processes to, and track training certifications and expirations
·  Support Knowledge Management team with programmatic support as required.

·  Ability to be unfazed by ambiguity and comfortable in environments with shifting priorities
·  Curiosity to understand the strategic priorities for Tesla and how to best address skill and knowledge gaps in the workforce

Skillset & Knowledge:

·  Project Management skills and the ability to manage multiple simultaneous tasks / projects with minimal supervision.
·  Ability to work through the instructional design process, from needs assessment to evaluation.
·  Excellent computer and software skills, Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
·  Proven ability to integrate adult learning principles into training.
·  Must have excellent communication & presentation skills – Extensive history of successful communication with the ability to influence and persuade others to action.
·  Track record of working confidently and effectively with senior level stakeholders to flesh out training requirements and report results
·  Strong customer service and social skills are an absolute necessity.
·  Estabilishes effective relationships throughout the organization, and show respect to all individuals. Foster collaboration and create a positive work environment

Experience:

·  Experience working inManufacturing Environment, preferably in a leadership role.
·  Experience facilitating sessions for groups ranging in size from 1 – 100 people.
·  Minimum1-5years’ experience designing training materials from scratch.
·  Experience in creating Operating Processes
·  Demonstrated proficiency in time and project management
·  Well versed in training curriculum and development. Experience with presentation, classroom, and material preparation skills.
·  Driven lean strategies and problem solivng in all levels of an organization
·  Experience in working with a LMS (Learning Management System) is a plus
·  Bachelor’s degree or equivalent preferred.
·  Experience working in a fast-paced, innovative environment preferred.
