JOB PURPOSE:
Perform Engineering detailed design on current projects for onshore /offshore projects and to fulfill Departmental needs and support engineering operation within the Company.
REPORTING LINES AND INTERACTIONS :

Engineers / Graduate Engineers in multi-tasking environment

JOB SCOPE (Budget, Management, Specific Criteria) : Dimension of the Job ::
TYPICAL BACKGROUND AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED :
MUST HAVE::
1) The Candidate shall posses a RECOGNISED Degree in Mechanical Engineering (B.E. Hons) or Equivalent. Possess at least minimum 4 years of engineering design experiences in various Mechanical/Rotating equipments for onshore / offshore application.
2) DESIGN BASIS, CODE & STANDARD
- Understanding and applying knowledge of Design Codes, industries standard and practices such as API/ISO/ ASME, etc. and Interpretation of the requirements to meet project requirement
- Competent to resolve problems /trouble shoot based on Codes & Standards interpretation
- Understand Codes limitation, apply with accuracy and effectiveness.
- Understanding of Client's specification (e.g. PTS, DEP, GS, IP etc.) and provide service which meet contract requirements
- Review and raise clarifications on the ITB /Client documents/ Contractual documents in case of ambiguity in definition / lack of clarity / lack of reference/ areas of doubt etc. based on specialist experience /judgment.
3) KNOWLEDGE OF ROTATING EQUIPMENT
- Understanding of rotating equipment used generally in oil and gas / refinery / Industries for onshore and offshore applications, and select correct types of equipment for a given process service application
- Understanding and Engineering competence in hydraulics, thermodynamics, aerodynamics, rotordynamics, combustion, etc
- Able to predict Rotating Equipment performance without over-depence on Vendors
- Competent to develop proper custom-made equipment specification which suit the nature of awarded project (i.e. Conceptual , FEED, Detailed engineering , EPC nature or Proposal ).
- Competent to review vendor's various options (including limitation and /or deviation) and provide detailed technical evaluation (TBE/TBT) of the equipment.
- Competent to review In-house and Vendor's P&IDs and identify interfaces for the equipment
- Competent to witness the vendor FAT / shop testing, and review test reports and provide relevant comments if any
- Competent to participate effectively to resolve any issues related to equipment testing โ in case of failures / deficiencies /under-performance /discrepancy during shop testing.
- Competent to provide support by responding to Site queries (STQ) regarding equipment engineering design /equipment installation / Mechanical completion for field acceptance
- Competent to explore cost-saving options / energy efficient measures during project execution phase or during proposal, if requested, and if available
- Competent to review the documents prepared by Subordinates (as checker), and show guidance / technical advice to Subordinates
- Competent to actively involve in the equipment / project Hazop or IPF studies and close out of any action points
4) MATERIAL SELECTION
- Understanding of various types of materials to be used for different services ( Wet CO2 service, sour service, Low-temperature service, toxic service, etc ) and knowledge of material available in the market for the particular service and equipment , and review of vendor proposes material.
- Understanding of materials grades to be used based on Process's input / Material selection report / corrosion study, and provide feedback if necessary in-case of the material selected are in questions.

6) VENDOR DATA REVIEW (VDR)
- Review on Vendor Data Review to meet Codes and Standards, Local Regulations, project and disciplines requirements
- Competent to interface with other disciplines like piping /stress group, process, civil, electrical, structural and instrumentation
- Able to understand interface issues with other disciplines, and resolve any conflict
- Able to conduct VDR meeting with vendor /support vendor โ in case of needs to shorten the VDR duration and to achieve project progress.
7) FABRICATION KNOWLEDGE
- Understand fabrication process, critical element/ critical path and how its influence the delivery of equipment
- Able to anticipant effectively to improve delivery schedule of Vendor equipment
GOOD TO HAVE
- Be willing to travel and stationed at various Engineering Operating Centers / Client Office on needs basis (for -Overseas assignment)
- Site or fabrication experiences (1 to 2 years)
MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Good professional judgment, responsive and pro-active in execution of Mechanical/Rotating Equipment deliverables to meet project needs, and ability to handle difficult situations arise due to complexities of Projects demand.
- Produce Quality Engineering deliverables / service and meeting JV/ Client expectation.
- Fulfill QA /HSE aspects, with acceptable team-works.
- Able to supervise, coach and guide young Engineers.
