Kaombo SURF, valued at approximately US $3.5 billion, is the largest subsea project in the industry to date. Technip and its strategic partner, Heerema Marine Contractors (Heerema), were awarded this major project by Total E&P Angola in April 2014 for the engineering, procurement, construction, installation (EPCI) and pre-commissioning for the SURF part of the Kaombo project, located in Block 32 offshore Angola in water depths up to 2,000 meters.

While the management team is currently based in Paris, the project is being executed on a global basis (France, Netherlands, Angola, USA, India, etc…).

To better monitor this mega-project, a “Command Center” was established at the beginning of 2015. Using visual management, key performance indicators are created and displayed in the Command Center to better communicate project status and align priorities across different operating centers.

Based in La Defense, the Project Engineer will assist the Kaombo Project Management Team to organize, prepare workshops ; to facilitate the collaborative sessions in the HUB ; to collect main outputs & to follow the actions defined during the session.

Project Engineer required to summarize and refine all the key indicators in order to ensure the management to have a clear view of the project development by maintaining Command Center and associated activities up-to-date.

The internship is a unique opportunity to acquire the hands-on project management experience and to work within an international and dynamic team. It offers a transversal view of project management from Engineering to Installation by working closely with team members at different levels and going through main problematics of the project.

Main responsibilities / tasks:

• Give support to the sponsors of the workshop to organize, prepare, structure the collaborative sessions

• Facilitate the workshop sessions held in the HUB. Assist the sponsors to follow the defined agenda, to lead the

• Collect, summarize the main outputs from the collaborative workshop. Define an action plan with all the actors of the session. Ensure the follow-up of the actions defined.

• Structure, prepare and update key performance indicators for the Command Center, especially for Operations Readiness, Offshore installation, HSE, Quality. Assist project managers and discipline leads in meeting preparation and to facilitate management meetings held in the Command Center.

Requirements:

• Capacity to perform tasks with autonomy

• Strong interpersonal skills, good team player and communicator

• Engineering background preferred

• Good ability to synthetize

• Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines

• Curiosity and willingness to explore all aspects of an international project (i.e., technical, commercial, management…)

• Good knowledge of MS Office suite

• Good knowledge of English as all materials are conducted in English

• 6 months internship, starting ASAP
