Description :
The Calibration Technician will perform calibration routines on assembled analytical instruments and sub-assemblies as a final phase in the manufacturing process.
Essential Functions/Responsibilities
As the Calibration Technician, you will:
·Be responsible for instrument set up onto work stations for performance testing
·Troubleshoot, repair, and perform performance testing on newly assembled instruments from setup to final certification
·Be responsible for take down of calibrated instruments in preparation for final shipment
·Actively participate in quality root cause analysis for issues and provide technical knowledge of failures during applications, where applicable
·Have sufficient understanding of the products assembled to perform trouble-shooting and rework, when needed
·Keep up to date with all quality operation instructions pertaining to this position
·Regularly use hand tools, calibrated tools, analytical instrumentation, computers, and process flow programs for calibration functions
·Be comfortable working/producing chemically aggressive fluids, such as acids and bases
·Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor/lead
·Observe all environmental, health, and safety rules, including housekeeping practices
Qualifications/Requirements
·Associates Degree in Chemistry or other related field; or 2 or more years' experience with chemical instrumentation, analytical chemistry experience, or related manufacturing experience
Skills and Abilities
·Prior analytical instrument calibration experience, including fluidics and mechanical knowledge
·Familiarity of part movement manufacturing functions
·Self-motivated
·Self-starter
·Strong attention to detail
·Strong independent problem-solving ability
·Strong mathematical, technical, and cognitive skills
·Strong verbal, written, and listening communication skills
·Demonstrated strong computer proficiency, including work processing, spreadsheets, and basic database knowledge
