Job description
EMC Characterization:
To ensure the timely availability of product performance data to designers and customers, consistent with the most demanded international standards and/or customer requirements, within the project timescales
Product Characterization testing is a critical link that occurs during product development and production satisfying the customers (Internal and External) need for product performance. The data provided is of a depth & detail far beyond that provided by Production Test.
The EMC Test Engineer shall execute automated tests on the RF/EMC lab bench, as per the validation plan during post-silicon phases of the product development, to ensure functionality and performance across a range of EMC tests.
Tests shall normally include the following; Radiated & Conducted Emissions, Radiated & Conducted Immunity (or Susceptibility), Operational ESD Testing, RF Distortion testing, either at Automotive Level testing or bespoke RF environment testing.
The successful candidate shall join an existing team to take responsibility for testing EMC & ESD testing of all CMOS Imaging products (Image Sensors and Photonics Silicon devices).
Previous experience in EMI / EMC Lab testing essential.
Profile
Working knowledge of testing standards to include one of the following: IEC61967, IEC62132, IEC62215 or equivalent standards would be an advantage
Experience working with HW, SW, Program Managers and other cross functions teams to configure product for EMI evaluations on site and potentially at 3rd party certification labs
Ability to evaluate product performance and debug EMC issues with standard test equipment (e.g., oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, DVMs, EMI Receiver, RF Signal Generators and RF Power Amplifiers).
Good communication skills, i.e the ability to verbally report and document test methodologies and report on device test results
Previous experience developing in Python to develop required SW test benches and to post-process measurement data
Self-motivated with analytical skills and a attention to detail are required as you will need to understand the silicon product and the validation environment (both HW & SW) interactions.
