Solvay has an excellent opportunity to work within our highly valued Composite Material Global Business Unit. This position is located in Santa Fe Springs, CA.

Quality Control Engineer

To provide specialized analytical tasks and expertise, and propose and implement improvements (on safety, response time, precision, cost effectiveness) or new techniques and methods.

Responsibilities

· Take into account HSE rules and established procedures, when developing and directing specific test programs. Support the manager in implementing and monitoring safe working conditions.
· Might provide HSE related training to all new staff (as required). Develop and implement procedures for safe QC operations.
· Review incoming sales order specification requirements
· Assist in management of external providers.
· Review SOP's on a defined basis. Develop QC methods and processes, and draft the SOPs. Update and improve QC methods and processes. Validate the SOPs, developed self or by others.
· Supervise tests development and test reports. Provide special analytical support on request (trouble shooting, customer support, customer complaints…).
· Stay updated about new technological developments and assets their potential use in the lab.
· Keep informed about the Groups technological and scientific needs within related domains of expertise.
· Execute delegated assignments focusing on the optimization of the entity's performance.
· Assets the effectiveness of lab equipment, methods and procedures, and make recommendations for improvements.
· Investigate any quality drift and incident, and contribute to the corrective actions.
· Collect, analyze and report all kinds of information regarding to the performance of the entity.
· Assist in the qualification and review of suppliers and 3 rd party contractors
· Inform colleagues about and/or train them in new methods, procedures and techniques.
· Support and advice staff in the resolution of complex problems.
· Knowledge of supporting and using data for SAP

Desired profile

Qualifications :

Required Skills

·  5 years of related experience
·  BS degree in Manufacturing or Industrial
·  Experience using SAP or other similar ERP system strongly desired
