Job Overview and Responsibilities:

The Customer Account Representative (CAR) is the primary contact for internal and external customers and is responsible for providing exceptional service and the attention required to obtain optimal customer loyalty.  The CAR is responsible for accurate order processing, aiding in the resolution of customer complaints and effective communication internally and externally.

•Manage the customer order to delivery process ensuring order accuracy and confirmation of on-time delivery
•Process returns, debits and credits
•Primary contact for internal and external customers for processing orders, complaints and inquiries
•Maintain and send customer reports as needed
•Receive and process sample orders
•Submit master data changes
•Perform monthly reconciliation of business (month-end close activities).
•Work independently with minimal supervision or assistance to perform assigned duties and responsibilities.
•Interface with businesses and Back Office to resolve order fulfillment issues
•Follow-up / investigate credit hold issues
•Handle customer document requests
•Professional interface with customers via phone, email and face to face
•Interface with business units to define and support customer requirements and standards
•Work with Planners to ensure terminal inventory is accurate, sales orders are posted in a timely manner and to make any inventory adjustments
•Provide on-call coverage after hours and weekends about once every 4 weeks
•Recruit and educate customers on E-Commerce portal
•Provide back-up coverage for other CARs as needed

Education and Experience:

•High School Diploma required.
•Bachelor’s degree preferred. 
•<= 3 years of customer service experience. Experience working for a chemical manufacturing organization a plus.
•Experience using an ERP system required, experience with SAP’s Sales and Distribution functions is highly desired.
