Your environment
At Societe Generale, you will be joining the Information Technology division of Global Banking & Investors Solutions (GBIS), one of the three pillars of SG that brings together Corporate and Investment Banking activities, Private Banking activities, Asset Management and Investor Services.
The VIE will be part of the IT Department, which is composed of more than 30 people covering all IT related projects, support and infrastructure in China.
Within the department, you will be part of the project & development team (based in Beijing), in charge of delivering the IT projects for all business lines (from retail/corporate banking to investment banking) in SG China.
Mission
Your role
Your main responsibilities will be:
Lead and help business user to raise requirement completely and precisely and prepare requirement spec.
Able to interpret business requirements and link them to system setup. Identify the gaps between the system capacity and users’ needs, review and confirm solution with vendors, 3rd party consultants.
Contribute in functional designs, user impact analysis, training plans and materials and communications; assist to identify conformance to business controls (regulatory, auditing & security, delegation & authorities) and recommend or report deviations for approval.
Acquires in-depth knowledge on the functional areas allocated to him/her (as main contact or as back-up) and provide production support to analyze production issues and resolve them
Lead the users to prepare SIT/UAT plan, test scripts, test data, and conduct tests, and report results.
Improve our test framework and ensure the quality of the deliveries from the vendors and our development in Bangalore.
Support the ITEC documentation, process updating.
Profil
The VIE assignment in a nutshell
This VIE in China (Beijing) is to begin as soon as possible but you need to plan 3 months between your application date and the beginning of your VIE assignment. It will last 18 months.
The VIE is a specific contract, under Business France’s eligibility criteria, opened to candidates under 28 and from the member states of the European Economic Space.

Your profile
Graduate from Engineering school, Business School or University with a master degree in IT.
You ideally have a previous experience in software development or QA Experience in financial Industry.
You are fluent in English and speak Chinese or French.
You are proficient with JAVA or another object oriented program (C++, C# …)

As a VIE, you could take more responsibilities by leading a complete project on the entire life cycle from business needs, through specification to the deployment to production.
The position is a great opportunity to discover the banking industry and build your functional knowledge of different business lines (from retail, corporate banking to investment banking). There will be lots of interaction with the development and support team, as well as with the business.
You will also develop expertise on technical side, including core banking system, accounting platform, enterprise database, etc.
