Responsibilities

Department Summary:

The goal of the Digital Transformation team is to provide tools, frameworks, plateforms, documentation and expertise on Digital technologies, in order to help other IT teams to accelerate the development of projects for theirs business users. These technologies enforce some technological standards to build our Digital offer on https://sgmarkets.com

We are part of the central Digital Transformation team in the IT of the Société Générale investment banking, with the sponsorship of the Chief Digital Officer. In Montréal, we are working for the whole America perimeter, serving users in Montréal, New York, Chicago etc. We are an extension of the Paris team, to have better proximity in the AMER timezone. The Continuous Delivery Platform (CDP) team has members in Paris, Bangalore and Montréal. We are working closely with other Digital Transformation teams as Public Cloud and Docker team, API team, Monitoring team, and other Digital capabilities offered to IT projects.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

To promote agility, software craftmanship and DevOps practices in SG, the CDP team is providing all the tools and platforms for developers, as the IDE, the SDKs, the GIT servers, the Jenkins/Teamcity servers, Jira, Nexus, Sonar, XLDeploy, etc.

The main tasks are:

· Support :

o Ensure of the stability and availability of the services/tools of the software factory

o Comply wit the SLA of the platform in FTS (Follow The Sun) mode

o Ensure to operate the services in compliance with the security rules

o Be on-call in case of special operations during the weekend

o Communicate on incidents and planned releases

· Participate on development and evolution of the offer

o Implement prototypes and conduct POC to validate new tools to be included in the software factory

o Install and upgrade tools and new instances of the tools

o Build a “CDP as a service” offer by implementing Python APIs and leveraging on Kubernetes/Terraform

o Reduce our support load thanks to more automation and chatbot

o Participate to the evolution of our offer on the Public Cloud Microsoft Azure

· Spread the knowledge

o Contribute to the documentation and spread the good usage of the tools

o Promote the good practices of the Continuous Delivery platform and participate to the “Test and Deployment” community

o Be the AMER expert of the CDP tools, be able to advise on the usage when needed

Profile required

Autonomy level:

The candidate must be able to animate meetings in autonomy with the users, represent the department in front of the application managers, self manage his working time and raise alerts if needed.

Important: the candidate must understand the internal tooling, be able to prioritize, do a follow-up of ongoing actions and keep people informed on the delay.
He must be able to train himself on technologies not already known, and do a deep dive analysis in order to fix complex issues.

The candidate will report to the CDP manager located in Paris, and will interact with his colleagues in Paris (France) and Bangalore (India)

Experience:
3 years of experience in development or administration of tools of the Software Factory.

Technical Skills:

Desired: Linux, Bash, Docker, Kubernetes, Python, Jenkins, Git, Terraform

Plus: Microsoft Azure, build tooling (maven/msbuild/npm/etc.), Teamcity, Jira, Github Enterprise, XLDeploy, Nexus, Artifactory, Sonar, Powershell

Soft skills:

· Practical sense : the candidate must suggest pragmatical solutions to fit the need of the team project, while respecting the quality standards.

· Analysis and synthesis : be able to understand complex problems involving multiple IT teams or users.

· Organisation and planning : be able to manage his working time autonomously

· Perseverance and result oriented : Demonstrate self-exigence. Perseverance to find a solution, despite the difficulty. Stay positive. Focus on the outcome.

· Oral and written communication : adapt your message to capture the attention of your audience.

· Client centric and sense of service : To identify needs, the candidate must understand the reasons and motivations of the users of the platforms. He must direct his tasks according to their work habits, while helping them to evolve.

· Cooperation and Team Spirit : He must work in good agreement with the members of the CDP team.

Languages: English, French is a plus
